00014992 by Eelmoor Farnborough, on Flickr Delta Airlines yesterday revealed that they have been in secret talks with the owners of the SQ 380s (Hi Fly) that were recently returned after their 10 year deal ended. Edward H. Bastian, Delta CEO, stated that talks had been kept under wraps so as to keep the price as favourable as possible for the Delta group. He went on to say that the A380 is a perfect fit to the airlines high density routes across the Atlantic, the long term aim is to acquire quite a few more second hand frames as they come off lease and build a workable fleet as we did with the unwanted Boeing 717. Cheap frames from the second hand market have always proved to be a success for Delta Airlines in both terms of very viable operating costs and sector seat prices.

Shame, as the colour scheme works well! Knew it was odd when I saw that the first ex SIA 380 has actually gone to LOT as SP-OOF!

I agree the colour scheme does suit it, and I'm not a fan of the normal Delta scheme, I guess Bill would have preferred it in North West Orient scheme and better still the whole fleet
Regards
