I hope they tether the train SS again!

Can you see the participants with out going in to Longleat as thinking of attending tonight?

You’ll get a distant view of those that fly, if you find the right place to view from. But you can’t see into the site from outside.

Morning Phil,
Hope it's a good day for you today,Keith who goes to most of the balloon meets is an old school friend of mine and I spoke to him yesterday via FB and he isn't going to Longleat as he is in the North East of the country pursuing his other passion (and mine) and watching Reading play @ Middlesbrough.

Also present was gyro G-HOWD which landed and parked on launch field.

Evening launch
Bizarrely this launch was affected by not enough wind! The only wind present to clear the launch site was at a high level and this would take the balloons over the safari park. As a result, it was a limited launch meaning more balloons were present for the nightglow (the largest ever in the UK). However, there were still over 50 balloons present for the launch- either flying or tethering....
G-BLCH G-BUVB G-BUYC G-BWIP G-BZKU G-CCPP G-CCRG G-CEEK G-CEOS G-CFIW G-CFXP G-CFXR G-CIDU G-CIHG G-CILO G-CIRL G-CIUA G-CIUK G-CJRO G-CKJT G-CKPR G-CKTV G-CKTW G-CKUN G-CKXH G-CKYX G-CLHS G-DRPO G-GPIG Guinea Pig SS G-HOPR G-HUKS G-IBCF G-IMCH Ricoh Cube SS G-JIMA G-KAYI G-LAAC G-LEAT Simbaloo Lion SS G-MLWI G-MOUZ G-NORG Hot Air Airship G-OFAA G-OINT G-OJBM G-PSON Panasonic Battery SS G-PURP G-SATL Sphere SS G-SBIZ G-UWEB
I left before the night glow as I wanted to beat the traffic, but apparently there were 84 balloons in the glow. Fortunately I saw PH-JEW Fuji Film SS inflating as I drove out, as I needed that. Also seen was G-CDXW Orange SS that I don’t think had appeared previously at the weekend.
Saturday nightglow (largest ever UK glow with 84 balloons) included-
G-CDXW Orange SS G-DUMA Duma the Cheetah SS G-PAWW Roger the Panther SS G-WESS Wes the Wolf SS EC-040 Scarlett the Macaw SS (also wore G-CLGP) PH-JEW Fuji Film SS

Great lists Phil,we were there for the Sunday am launch only so we certainly missed some good stuff during the tethering sessions.
I've gone through my log and have come up with two on the Sunday that don't appear on your lists but as you say you may have missed some.
G-BLVA Airtour AH.31 (inflated only) G-CINN Cameron Z-31 (flew)
I'm certainly going to spend more time at this event next year but this year's proceedings gave us some practice for the big one in New Mexico in just over two weeks time.

Thanks Dave, I’ll add those 2 to the total list. I’ll try and post just a few photos soon.
Enjoy Albuquerque! I’m very jealous- I’ve only been once and that was 20 years ago! Next year I’m planning on the World Hot Air ballooning championship in Slovenia.
Cheers

Thanks Phil,I must admit I can't wait to get on board that plane,4 nights in San Francisco,5 nights in Albuquerque and five nights in Fort Lauderdale,me and my mate will have our wives with us but it will be a great trip mixing spotting with touristy bits.I can't wait to see the Special Shapes Rodeo which according to the organisers has 104 of them booked in.

Did you pay and go in Dave Hi Keith,no we watched from the hill @ Heavens Gate (is that the correct name?) the wind direction meant that they took off towards us so we had a great view. Now I know what to expect I will certainly consider spending more time at this event next year.

I went to Heavens Gate in 2017 but the fog never lifted enough. I could see balloons on the ground occasionally when it thinned a bit so I guess you might be able to see some of the tethers but being on site is essential for me for photos. It’s a great event and much better than Bristol but if you’re not crewing, it’s going to cost you!

Haven't yet seen a list for the Sunday morning lift, so here's what I logged. I too was at Heaven's Gate, quite an impressive sight to see them all lifting off and heading towards us. I know I missed a few which disappeared behind the trees, so any additions/amendments gratefully received. The list does include a few which inflated but did not fly.

Hi Wilbur,
I've just checked your log against my own and I list below the balloons that we saw that I'm certain you would have seen too before they disappeared behind the trees:
BLVA Tethered only BRRR Short hop across launch site BXDR CGNJ CJLT CJVH CKTJ L'Occitane Inflated alongside other company balloon G-CKTV CLAD CSEE FMGB Fortnum & Mason This was the third balloon to inflate UPOI UP This is the one with all the small balloons attached UWEB
Lastly you must have seen the balloon that tethered only that had 4 VT on it,this was OE-RNF an Ultramagic F25SS Football.
Hope this helps.
