Highlight for today was standing on the 8th tee, then looking up to see the Polish C130 banking onto finals for Biggin Hill. Low enough to see the markings. 🙂

A slow day yesterday, mainly as I had a load of work to do, but I did manage two frames. I had to venture out mid afternoon and whilst passing between Chippenham and Junction 17 of the M4, I saw a C-17 at quite low level to my north, this would have been about 1545BST and I know an Aussie C-17 was on its way into BZZ. Long shot but could anyone confirm or otherwise that my C-17 was A41-210? MTIA

Well Friday afternoon turned out very different to expectations, and then out with one of my sons to see a Canadian band I been wanting to see for years with the frankly genius name of Holy F**k, in Nottingham (** so I don't get banned!), followed by one for the road in Ye Olde Trip to Jersualem which I hadn't set foot in for an eon, reputed to be the oldest inn in England and partly set in a cave under Nottingham Castle. My lad asked me if I remembered it opening, cheeky little sod.

Early start from North Yorkshire Sunday allowed us to get home about midday and after unpacking- it was in my den as there was half decent weather and they are still landing 05 at Manchester and I managed a respectable five- whilst doing my logbook from our trip. 9H-QCF- 737-8 Malta Air inbound MAN TC-SOK- 737-8M- Sun Express inbound MAN F-HTVF- 737-8 Transavia (France) southbound SE-ROM- A320N SAS inbound MAN S2-AJU- 787-8 Bangladesh inbound MAN Then we lost the Derby to our chums and with Burnley winning we are now in the bottom three- regarding the Derby we should have had a penalty in the second half at 0-0 but the VAR man apparently was asleep and it was not checked- the game is knackered. As the song goes The only way is Up. Happy Days Bob

There is now a possibility that Reading could be playing Everton next season, but to lose 3-0 at the side that have the worst home record in the Championship (12 defeats @ home I believe) is not acceptable, major changes are needed.

Not much to report the last couple of days, some decent weather in spells though hazy again, and too many other preoccupations.

Notable for me was seeing PA28 G-BCGJ fly over home on Monday, not needed as previously seen 23/8/75 at Kidlington when it was on CSE's fleet. Nearly 47 years ago, mind boggling.

Well, Tuesday evening's late weather bulletin promised a "dry day with sunny intervals, expect a temperature of 15c" for Wednesday but the weather boys got it completely wrong and we ended up with a cold day, mainly cloudy and a biting wind. I did manage to make two, the biz at high level during a very short break in the cloud cover.
