Thanks Chris- It's only my opinion and everyone is entitled to opinions be you Labour, Conservative or Liberal or other parties, but it was a real eye opener for me to see the A & E department on Friday- it was unbelievable. Hopefully the issues will be resolved in addition to the other disputes. Onwards and Upwards Bob

Nurses and other vital workers should always be a priority in my humble opinion. Caroline has five grandchildren, one of whom Alfie is two and a half and suffers from various conditions including Downs Syndrome and heart issues. He was rushed to RUH in Bath a week ago, his overnight oxygen levels had slipped dangerously low and he was given the absolute best of care for the week he was there, 24/7. Nothing was too much trouble and the hospital provided a bed for his Mum to sleep in during her time there.
Look at the tens of billions being spent on the totally un-needed HS2, billions to shave 20 minutes off an already fast service, the billions in weapons we've shipped to Ukraine, not that they don't deserve our help, the countless billions wasted on useless PPE during the pandemic, and of course, the hundreds of billions spent on the furlough scheme. If we can drum up the dosh for all of that, why can't we find enough to reward the nurses? It makes my blood boil to see them being essentially being told to sod off because they received a 3% increase last year. This country has always had its priorities completely wrong, regardless of who is sitting in Number 10. But then, none of them give a shit as long as their snouts are buried deep in the gravy train.

Evening Mrs B still off her feet so there i was pegging out the washing this morning when i heard a fast jet, looking up at the small patch of blue sky to see 2 F-16's. Ran in to my office to see one pinging as a BAF F-16 FA-134 which of course i needed, feeling good about seeing F-16's and logging one off i went back to the garden. Only to find that on the local group there was 4!! Oh well i had FA-134 in the log for at least 10 minutes before deleting it!! Trevor

Well, lightning DOES strike twice, last Christmas Caroline tested positive for COVID on Christmas Eve and remained positive until the day prior to us returning to work. We had to stay home, I remained negative throughout but it put paid to our days and evenings out that we had planned.
On December 23rd this year she started complaining of a sore throat, developed a rasping cough and has felt like crap now for four days.
Anyway, it is what it is so I hope everyone has had a very good, lurgy free Christmas.

Thanks Dave, she did a Covid test just in case but that was negative. She really seems to have a head cold, headache, streaming nose and a rasping cough that might make you think she smoked 60 fags a day. Flu I believe usually means aching joints and a complete lack of energy but neither of those symptoms apply to her. Hope your family all feel better soon.
Now, just to put the seal on it, our cat has fallen from the kitchen worktop onto the stone tiled floor and looks like she's done herself quite a mischief so it's an out-of-hours visit to the vets.
Merry Bloody Christmas!!!

This bloody flu virus is wierd, having avoided Covid,I've picked up this flu virus however I don't have a headache or runny nose just aching joints and a bit of a cough, been taking Lem Sip & Paracetamol, the weather doesn't help either which brings me nicely onto yesterday viewings,it was cloudy with showers for much of the day but it cleared up to allow the Akasa to be seen on the next stage of it's delivery flight.

Health updates- the Mother in Law from deaths door- did a Lazarus on us and recovered sufficiently due to the love and care of the nurses and Doctors at Whiston Hospital on Merseyside for her to return home with the District Nurse visiting her, and to be looked after by ourselves. Still not out of the woods, as more treatment needed this year. But its a start. Also Jan and Myself have had this annoying cough for the last few days (non Covid) which hopefully Paracetamol and Covonia will sort out. Nothing added to this year's log yesterday so logged 73 frames/scrapes for December giving me a final figure for 2022 of 2254 (an increase of 1006 on 2021).
Two trips booked for this year Zurich in two weeks time for the WEF & Oshkosh in July (both fully booked)
I'm now the only member of my family who has the flu virus but it is getting better.
HAPPY NEW YEAR all.
