Will be awol for a little while, off down under (for the first time) to see one of my daughters, who got married down there during the worst of Covid times. A couple of days lay over in Dubai (travelling Emirates A380s on each leg), where one of my sons is currently holed up, and we then go on together to Brisbane for a couple of weeks. Certainly not a spotting trip but as ever sure I'll pick up the odd cop to report here or there subject to having some phone data for radar. Meanwhile, sunny skies and many trails wished for everyone.

Well, my prediction for a good day yesterday came to fruition, clear skies all day and so a few in the bag including the two SAS A321s which never usually come this far south, one was JFK bound, the other BOS.

Didn't fall out of bed in time to see the Iraqi MAX on delivery this morning, but did manage to get five before heading out for my grandsons 2nd birthday, which he has to share with my son, and to top it off it's my youngest daughter's birthday tomorrow...

Well the last day in February and it is cloudy as I type this-and unless something miraculous happens-it looks like my quite respectable 94 in the book for the month will be my lot. Managed two visits to the LPL General Aviation area during the month, and we had two days in North Yorkshire again staying at the Gisborough Hall Hotel which included a pre-arranged visit to Fishburn. My 94 was broken down into the following:- A220= 04 A320/321=15 A330=06 A350=04 ATR=02 B737=08 767=01 777=01 787=06 Biz Jets=22 Biz-Prop=02 CRJ1000=01 E190=01 E195=01 GA=09 Heli=04 Mil=07 Highlights for the month were the two Iberia A350’s which came into LPL to drop off and pick up the Real Madrid team for their Champions League game at Anfield- (EC-NXC & EC-NXE) and at Fishburn finally catching up after almost 60 years of spotting with the Tawney Owl G-APWU a massive gap filler in my BICR. The mornings and evenings are starting to get lighter- so hopefully a better report for March fingers crossed. Enjoy the Hobby Bob

If you are going to make just 1 in a day, make it a good one, VN-A238 F2000 on departure from Biggin Hill after getting home from rugby.

If you are going to make just 1 in a day, make it a good one, VN-A238 F2000 on departure from Biggin Hill after getting home from rugby. Hi Phil, I popped up to Biggin on Saturday afternoon, just for this one… When I do things like that it’s normally the kiss of death - or at least some bright spark towing said aircraft off to an un-viewable part of the airfield! Anyway, happy to report it (VN-A238) was in full view, sadly almost diagonally facing away from the Lookout Cafe, but clearly identifiable. Whilst there also made M-OCNY Challenger 350 and G-ETGA PC-12. Long way to go but this was my first Vietnamese non-commercial aircraft… Watched it on radar departing to Le Bourget…. Bill

Glad your trip was worthwhile, Bill. It left after dark, so just as well I live so close, as I need to see the frame to log a frame, not just strobes for me. Phil
