The gloom continued today- three days running. Hard day yesterday after the sad news that we lost our greatest ever Manager Howard Kendall - the result at Goodison was meaningless to me- as he brought me more joy in the eighties watching the blues than I am likely or other Evertonians are likely to see anytime in the future. RIP Howard -thanks for the great memories that will last with me for a lifetime. Unhappy Days Bob Very sad day indeed Bob,we had a minute's applause in the 14th minute for a 14 year old Reading season ticket holder who died of cancer the day before, puts plane spotting on the back burner when you get news like this.

At last some blue sky over Hamburg, D-AXAU (G-EZOW) 6834 made its first flight out of XFW this afternoon. While going into HAM, A9C-HMH went in the book and Eurowings A330 D-AXGA is finally earning revenue operating GWI flights to PMA, 2nd A330 is also in HAM, last time I saw it still as A7-AFP, though I guess this will have been changed while she is in the hanger completing mods. They are offering Dubai for Euro 108 one way!!!

Back home from our cruise, nothing yesterday and drizzle and low cloud most of today, but just clear enough to see B-8226 newish A330 of China Eastern on LHR 27 departure.

Bright here early with trails, but the gloom has now descended, only just managed to pick out HL8007 777 on LHR 09 approach on its first visit.
Good selection of others - YR-BMB 738 out of LPL, TC-YAK EMB.190 heading for EXE and N27958 789 routing FRA-IAH. Also 9H-ALL C.525A heading SW, a lucky spot at FL320 as not trailing.
Hope to be able at least to see the strobes of the Thai 777 HS-TKK due into LHR 18.25

Catch-up day for me, with G-ZBKB/C 789s both made, plus HS-TKM 777 inbound LHR on its first visit. Some clear spells, but nothing of note OTT.

Nothing new for me for the last few days. Been trying to catch up with logs- got as far as April 2013 so a long way to go !
Away from aircraft, I went to see U2 at the O2 last night. I seem to recall several other U2 fans on this site- anyone else going or been? Superb show! Fifth time I've seen them and quite possibly the most enjoyable of the five!

Made 30 at LHR on Sunday, haven't marked off Luton or Farnborough yet. Must have made about 45/50 all together on Sunday, so all in all a great day. Missed the Finnair A350 in the morning somehow, we were there when it took off according to FR24 - don't remember seeing anything like it, and the A350's are quite of their own shape lets say lol.

Hi Bob I thought you might have been one of the members who had posted that they liked U2. After seeing the previous 4 tours, I gave the last tour a miss due to cost and decreasing interest! But I'm glad I went this time - really good!
Cheers
ps. Great night for the Toffeemen last night - into the QFs and seeing the bigger teams go out! It's always a good night when Chelsea and Arsenal lose!

All I can say Dylan ( apart from it's good to see you back on here) is that if the Finnish A350 required as little take off run as when I saw the trials at Kemble a year or so ago, she would have been up and off that runway before anyone knew!

Graham mate, hopefully wasn't rolling along the runway as we drove past it (as there's fencing all round the runway etc so drivers don't get distracted).. Now that'd be annoying lol. Cheers for the welcome back mate - been busy lately - although have indeed been watching
