You really have been at the jam today haven't you! 😄😄 Cheers Mark Makes a change, Mark. Usually, it is cloudy here and every other b****r gets the sunshine.
Or it is someone (who shall remain nameless) who can see trailing overflights in hazyish conditions from 80 miles away, when I can't see the same from 35 miles away.....and it is always "good" C-17s!! I've managed nearly 80 miles once - and the conditions were exceptionally crisp and clear.
Moan over.
Anyway, I'd rather have the two I got than the two visitors you had (both of which I need).

Jam? Give me some! Just murk and gloom in this part of Wilts. Anyway, Bizfreeq...since when did Bournemouth het City of Culture status? The sheep, rabbits and badgers all think it is very civilized round these ere parts!
Nb...Oaksey is Stinsonless now. Boo hoo.

Boo hoo indeed WB, that's really bad news! And Bob, to be honest, I'd rather have had your Turkmenistan EH101 than my A319! As for the character you mention, I know one of those too, but at the end of the day it's only themselves they are cheating mate, what they say they see is of no consequence, you know you are doing things right and that's all that matters! Here's to blue skies tomorrow, I've a couple of Hawks to get photos of, and I'm sure you have plenty of things due over your neck of the woods that you need! Cheers Mark

If only!! They are all going up North.
In any case, currently in Europe, what I need would appear to be just one C-17 (Altus, of course) and the WC-135 at Mildenhall (missed it by 1½ hours on Monday). This is what I know of. I'm not counting any U-28s that will probably go in the 'Hall tomorrow and depart Friday (North, of course).

Ah that's a bummer mate! Would love a photo of the WC but unlikely I'll get up there before it goes home, and if I do I guarantee it sits there all day! I've seen that one before but not photographed it unless it's a long hidden print photo! Cheers Mark

Almost unbelievable day for me - five!!!
3 x C-17As 01-0196, 00-0175 (Westbound) and 01-0187 (Eastbound) KC-135R 63-8018 accompanying the NATO AWACS USN C-40A 165836 into Brize Norton.
Mind you, the cloud will probably say "That's your lot for the month" - I hope not.

Lots happening on the work front means I haven't posted on the "daily" thread for ages. I seem to be spending half my time at Birmingham and the rest in Stockport or out on the road. But, I did manage a day at home yesterday to catch up on paperwork and ended up making six..
Firstly, the U2 that departed Fairford and thundered over the house at 0630 taking the roof tiles with it. And I needed it too..
80-1080 - U2 G-ZNTH - LJ75 N92LA - GLF5 G-SUEJ - E550 QQ103 - DA42
A few from the days before...
2/3 M-MIDY - F900 G-JZHV - B737 EI-FZA - B737
3/3 N887TM - GLF5 LX-RSQ - LJ45 N502VR - GLF5

Thursday the clouds and trails played ball for once, and 31 frames hit the book. Military wins were Saudi C130 1630 trundling northwards, and Challenger 14+02 into Northolt. RCH967 a KC135 62-3542 trailed nicely but was not needed. 2 American 787s were seen in rapid succession, N809AA into LHR, while N822AN overflew from Europe, heading back to the US. Inbetween Air Canada sister ship C-FRSE meant 3 in a row were Dreamliners. Eurowings continue to send in to LHR the A319s and 320s that are in the Air Berlin registration series. D-ABGJ and D-ABGM were todays needed. A318 A6-AAM out of Farnborough (where I had seen it as a house demonstrator previously) BBJ A6-RJV and Bristow A139 G-CIJW were other highlights.
Today was quite different, with clag all day, but I did finally manage to catch the Air France 787 F-HRBA doing the early morning Heathrow run, as it popped out of the clouds, and this afternoon Lear LX-LAA into Biggin made it just 2. What a difference 24 hours makes.

One for the day - which was quite surprising. A nice (though quite slack) C-17 going into Mildenhall over the top of me.
Seen through broken patches of cloud thanks to the trail it was making - at FL240!!! Must have been odd conditions above the cloud base. I wouldn't have seen it if it hadn't been trailing - and I needed the shades to make out the aircraft.
Probably have to write off tomorrow, but Monday looks promising all day (at the moment).

As predicted, zero for me today.
Fine weather tomorrow and fingers very much crossed that the B-I-G bird in Spangdahlem comes my way (provided it doesn't go "tech") - as I'm running out of time to see it.

Got it!!! Last C-5A possible for me (discounting the two C-5Cs - now Ms - and just 4 in the boneyard).
Also made the Saudi Government 737 HZ-102.
Well pleased.
On the down side, it looks like the nice weather will abandon me for the rest of the week.
Up in the air, but might possibly just have to take a trip this weekend. Hint:- Juliet Zulu is taking me.

Weird weather today; some good trails visible over Kent and East London, but low level clag meant nothing inbound Heathrow could be seen. best of the trails was AA757 N192AN with gapfiller Norwegian 737 EI-FHU.

Not having seen a grate deal recently, thought I would use the time to catch up (Again!) Christoff - If I see a special offer on a fireplace I'll let you know . Highlight for me yesterday (though not needed) was seeing a flying 747SP when HZ-HM1C (SVA01C) followed fellow Saudi Government 747 HZ-HM1A (SVA01A) & A340 HZ-124 (SVA003) over Basing en route back from the States all in a 15 minute period from 12.45 to 13.00, and actually obliged by going through one of the rare blue bits of my sky.
