I returned to Kiev with my mate Jeff to make a second attempt to fly in an An24 having ended up in an An74 last year. I saw most of what there was to be seen last year so I didn't go intending to be full on spotting. We saw all the UIA 737s bar two, four Ejets and three 767s. We flew into Borispol with UIA from Gatwick on board UR-PSP and I made the following.

22/5 Jeff went off to look at some trains today so I went down to the museum at Zhuliany again. I paid my three pounds and saw that a few things had been shuffled around but nothing much had changed. My main reason to go there was to visit the gift shop again and spend some time on the mound overlooking the runway. I could see some stored frames some of which were there last year. Movement wise, unfortunately all I saw was a couple of Wizz and the sun was strong, so with no shelter, I decided to move on. As soon as I did a Belavia arrived! There were a couple of stored aircraft that I missed last time so my first stop was the adjoining army compound where a Yak 40 was parked. I nipped in and took a couple of shots of what was a tired looking airframe. The other target was an An24 at the police college but alas that had gone. Having already walked a long way in the heat, I decided not to continue around to the other side of the airport where quite a few more were stored.

23/5 Went to the Polytechnic today so Jeff could see the steam loco displayed there and the Yak 40 and Mil 2 that I saw last year. We then moved on to the Aviation College which was closed last year. This year it was very much open however, so we were able to see all the aircraft except the Mil 8 which was hidden behind other frames but no photos were allowed sadly. We spent the rest of the day riding around on trams!

24/5 Well today was the day and FR24 told us that we were flying UR-MSI An24, mission accomplished. We saw a few more stored frames from the Domestic Terminal and made some of the visitors from the bus to the aircraft. Unfortunately we were right by the engine, so we were unable to read off anything as we taxied out.

We were then bussed to the side of this terminal to get landside. We then went through security to give us some spotting time before our flight.
