Hi all,
I have not been to Fairoaks for a very long time (about 2-3 years or so) and wondered if one of the locals could answer a couple of questions. I know we get a monthly movements report but my questions are not about movements.
Firstly back in 2019 Gama closed down their maintenance operation but kept their design office going. I believe that Gama have now closed the design office and moved it to Bournemouth, so have Gama completely left Fairoaks now ?
Secondly Gama had a lot of hangars so are these now empty or has somebody else taken them over and now ‘own’ them ? If so who now owns them or operates from them ?
Finally back in 2013 there was a Beech 58 (G-WWIZ/G-GAMA) stored dismantled in one of the Gama hangars. LAAS now have this at Bournemouth as G-GAMA, is this correct and how and when did it get there? G-INFO says it has no C of A since 2008 so I guess it could not have flown and when I saw it in 2013 I am pretty sure it was painted as G-WWIZ even though it was re-registered as G-GAMA in 2012 ? Is it now actually painted as G-GAMA or was this just a ‘paper’ exercise ?
I believe this has been kept by the owner of Gama Aviation as it was their fist aircraft.
Hopefully in a couple of months I will be ‘allowed’ to visit and have a look at things for myself !
Thanks for any info ?
Paul M

G-GAMA now based at Bournemouth according to Planebase, no idea about the condition though I'm afraid.
