An interesting 10 min video that takes a look at the history and current state of Dulles, Reagan National and Baltimore Marshall. I first visited these three as a 16 year old in 1972 and most recently in 2009. Gravelly Hill Park in Washington sits about 200m north of National Reagan's main 01/19 runway threshold and has to be one of the best vantage points in the continent.

We were youngsters on a huge adventure Dave weren't we, I was 16 and I think you and Sid were 2-3 years older than me. How old were Rodders and Brian? Seems a lifetime ago, some bits I remember as if they were yesterday, yet there are some I have no recollection of.

Graham,at the time of our visit both myself & Sid would have been 19 1/2,Rodders I think would have been of a similar age to yourself and I think Brian was slightly older than myself & Sid,but it would have been only a matter of months.
Certainly a trip never to be forgotten.

I was 15 when my mum & dad let me go with a bunch of guys to the Paris Air Show but I’m not sure if they would have let me go to the States at 16… Sounds a bloody great trip though guys… Great memories… Bill

It took some convincing Bill, the family had just moved from Reading to Wiltshire, I took a coach trip to the Biggin show in 1971, completely unexpectedly bumped into Dave and Keith who told me they were off to Washington in late May 72 and invited me along. My parents knew how much I wanted to visit the US and agreed even though I would get back home just a few days prior to the start of my o levels. A wonderful trip with great mates and one I'll always remember..
