Currently working through my old logbooks entering into Planebase to put in stuff I did not need to make a full log of each visit. Previously I had only entered what I needed so I am not really that far behind in my logging. I have encountered some queries I never tied in, so anyone with access to any old magazines that can help that would be much appreciated. I recently acquired a disc with full Manchester movements from 60s, 70s and 80s so the info could well be out there for other airports LUTON 29-JAN-89 LN- 737 Departed as BU717Q LHR, I have checked www.lhr-lgw.co.uk/heathrow-archives-1980.html but nothing in there for so far back LHR 10-FEB-89 G- A109 JCB parked on VIP LHR 10-FEB-89 N600JS?? 707 fuel farm LHR 26/8/89 P-3 USN (BARG 1989 Page N960 has 150511 arriving on 24/8, probably stayed?, SEAR had nothing in 1989, but Page JA08 1990 has same info as BARG) BIRMINGHAM 24-FEB-89 OO- 737 TEA HATFIELD (show) 1/7/89 Harrier GR5 FAIRFORD (show) 23/7/89 Bleriot Any help much appreciated, I tried to post my full log for 1989 in the days gone by section but lost it somewhere. Hi Bob
Your Boeing 707 at Heathrow could have been N600JJ. This was operated for a Saudi Prince and was a fairly frequent visitor to Heathrow. Can’t help with the others.

Hi Bob
The Bleriot doesn't appear on either the Planet Avgeek or Scramble show reports for Fairford 1989. I don't have it in my log for that show but then, if I'd already seen it previously, I don't as a rule log it again. I do have a Bleriot XI Replica as seen as Fairford RIAT 2003, that was G-LOTI so, 14 years after your sighting but these old birds do have a habit of coming back to these shows AND the reg is in very small black lettering on the tail, quite easy to miss. It might at least be somewhere to start.

Bob - I was at the Hatfield show on 1.7.89 but sadly my log for that day does not show a Harrier, perhaps a fly-by after I had left? Your 707 at Heathrow on 10 February could have been Saudi Royal Flight HZ-123 which arrived on the 8th but unfortunately I have no departure date for it.

Thanks, BARG have the Bleriot as a replica arriving by road that year. Not sure if flyable or static. The Hatfield Harrier was a flyby only late on in the show. As for the 707 at LhR I read as something like N600JS so N600JJ is the most plausible option.

I'ver asked about the Harrier on the FCG website, if they don't know, it's unlikely that anyone will.

I tried to post from my PC but it did not appear….
It looks like the 707 will be binned from my log. N600JJ went to N707KS before that date. It may be I recognised the livery perhaps? I had seen N600JJ several times before so no worries this was just to fill a gap. There were two N707KS (17702 and 20025) according to planebase and a production list I have all the changes seem to fall in line and agree on dates. The twist is that the FAA N reg has a certificate for N707KS 20025 issued in 1989, several years before Planebase etc says it became that. For 17702 becoming N707SK (yes after N707KS it became N707SK) there is a certificate in 1992 so falls in line with Planebase saying it changed for KS to SK then.
As I say I didn’t need either as a frame so no worries and thanks for everyone’s inputs.

I was at Hatfield on that date in 1989 but no Harrier logged- we had probably rushed back to the PFA rally at Cranfield.
I also have an unmarked Bleriot listed for IAT that year. I would also guess at G-LOTI which I had seen before and since at various shows. On Flickr, there is a photo of the Bleriot in question at Fairford in 1989, if you search “Bleriot Fairford”
