Hi Guys,
Some of you know that I'm loading almost 50 years of logs into ADU... It's a monster task but I'm still going for it... But every now and again I come across question marks which remain unanswered...
However, knowing that we have some absolute experts in our midst's I'd like you to take a look at this collection of photos. Towards the end of this lot you will see an all white Widgeon sea plane. This was inside the Yanks Air Museum in Chino, California in 2012, but I cannot find out what the ID is....
So can anyone help?
Cheers lads.
Bill

Hi Bill - I think your Widgeon is probably former Navy J4F N299CN c/n1299. Last time I was at Chino (some time before your visit) it was there but very much under the early stages of re-build although then still carrying its former reg of N2PS under which it had a quite a bad prang in Florida way back in 1973. Looking at it at the time of my visit it looked as if it hadn't been repaired after that as it was still a bit mangled. Others may however be able to confirm or otherwise. Have a good weekend. Dave

Hi Dave,
It looks like you've done it again mate... Cheers Dave.
I've looked everywhere I can think of on the web - so thanks very much!!
Think you are right about the type as well... I put it down to the Irregular sightings of these types...
Hope all's well with you... Must be time for another meet soon.
Cheers.
Bill
