I have a customer on Bowerhill and always wondered about the huge old hangars situated there. Thanks for the link Keith, very interesting.

I remember in the early nineties when the Harrier pub (now The Pilot) opened at Bowerhill. The opening ceremony included the pub being buzzed by 4 Harriers from RAF Wittering. The Harriers all landed at Lyneham and the crews were promptly bussed over to the pub where I belive a fine time was had by all. This did not go down too well with RAF hierarchy and questions about the event were even asked in Parliament! I've no idea if those involved were disciplined but I can't recall any similar events in more recent years.
Cheers
Keith
