I gather that while I was in Cuba for the past 2 weeks, the 2 former US Army Chinooks (the third being on the gate) were parked near the fire trainer on the south side. A visit today showed that only 89-00159 is still there (to the right of the fire trainer when looking from the lay-by). Anyone know if the other one (86-01677) has left or been taken back inside?

Thanks for the heads up on this. How complete is 89-00159?
I'm in the layby now and the only thing to the right of the fire rig is a green fuselage.
On the apron at 14.30 is an impressive line up of at least 7 Chinooks as well as an inbound and outbound. Unfortunately can't read any off of course!

They were wrapped in white plastic in the hangars the last time I saw them, from memory the paint was almost black or very very dark green !!

Hi ZZ. 89-00159 is a basic fuselage. It has a US Army blue/white unit badge on the port side and is fitted with the damaged cockpit section of ZA671 which it is in a slightly different shade of green from the rest of the fuselage and is draped in tarp. ZA671 now has the original cockpit section from 89-00159.

Thanks
