Air Belgium has taken another step towards its first commercial flight scheduled for late March when its first two aircraft were registered on Friday.
The aircraft are Airbus A340s bearing the registration OO-ABA and OO-ABB, according to the registry website FPS Mobility.
Air Belgium has confirmed these registrations. Currently, the planes are still in France and not yet finished: they have not been painted in the airline’s livery and we do not know when they will join Air Belgium.
At the end of January, the airline’s boss Niky Terzakis announced that starting in March Air Belgium would operate a service from Charleroi airport to China. Hong Kong will be the first destination. The fleet is expected to have four A340s.
Air Belgium is still waiting for its flight license (AOC) which should be granted at the end of February.

Hi Jeff
By chance I caught OO-ABA yesterday trailing OTT Bracknell Friday 20/04/18 17.11 Subbing? on a westbound Air Suriname flight from Schiphol to Paramaribo it's got a smart colour scheme on it too

Saw both OO-ABA & ABB in Brussels on 8 April. ABA had just positioned in after operating a Milan-Havana flight and they were offering an air experience flight from/to Brussels (National) for just 25 Euro!. They should have started Charleroi-Hong Kong earlier this week though I believe they are payload limited on the outbound leg from Charleroi They are rather pretty. I've had the genuine pleasure of working with Nicky Terzakis and wish him well with the venture.

Hi Dave
I too wish Air Belgium every success.
Looking back at the flights to Suriname back to the 16/03/18. There are two single day substitutions only and both by OO-ABA. As noted on Chris Toffs log on the 29/03/18 and my sighting on the 20/04/18. Certainly todays inbound Schiphol flight was the usual PZ-TCR
