Sabre Strike is on 4th - 22nd June 2018.
Tuesday 22nd May 2018
Fairford is NOTAMed open today from 06.00BST to 07.30BST.
Thought to be for a support flight for the coming deployment..........no, it can't be an Embassy flight as that has just gone back to the US.

Rumour has it that something is arriving on Friday 1st June. The latest says that it is B-52s.
However, as we have had no support aircraft from either Minot or Barksdale, I would say that the above ID is baloney!!
I would say that B-1s from Dyess is far more likely - seeing as we have had the support aircraft.

Hi Bob - I totally agree with your logic.
Would it be a pretty good bet that the bombers are likely to fly up TR1 into Fairford regardless of wind direction?
If so, I hope the cloudbase lifts over Chippenham - for the second day on the trot I missed the Ghostrider overhead because of low cloud (I heard it but that don't count).
Cheers Keith

A reasonably good bet, Keith. Mind you, they have been known to come in over Valley/Wallasey area and route down over Shawbury.
Cloud was my bugbear today as my last Wiesbaden UC-35 did a low approach to Mildenhall at 800ft. Trouble was the cloudbase was 500ft!!
'Fraid the Ghostrider has now gone off to the Baltic states for its real purpose of being over here.
Cheers,
Bob

86-0134/EL of 28BW. I wonder what the chances of this still being there at the weekend are?! Thats 2 I need there now, so may call past on the way to/from Cosford.

Thanks Mark- just read that on FC or UKAR too.
Good news in that I should see them at Fairford- disappointing though that there won’t be a flypast at a Cosford.
Cheers

Air Force Global Strike Command has just ordered a safety stand-down of all B-1B's due to 'an issue with ejection seat components'. Info from Business Insider on my phone new app.
