Paid a visit today to Fairoaks, my local field, usually make 1 or 2 if I’m lucky, so was delighted to make 5!
G-DSJT C.182T G-KDOG Bulldog (painted as XX624) G-LORN CAP-10 G-NLDR AS.355 G-SPEY AB.206B
Also present was N644BL Beech 36TC, a registration I did not recognise, but a little research showed I had seen the frame as D-EKPC at Palma Mallorca in 1997!
LHR departures made were VH-ZNB 789 Qantas and VP-BEE 321 sharklets Aeroflot.
Not bad for a dull day!

Finally April !
The spotting season properly starts ... just need some decent weather!
Middle Wallop for the Auster event next Saturday, possibly up to Fairford if there is anything to see by then. Should be followed by quick visits to Newcastle and “Teeside” during the week. If I’m lucky, a quick visit to Cranwell and Barkston, but we’ll see...
Then at the end of the month it’s Berlin Airshow , followed by a day visiting Stansted, Mildenhall, Lakenheath, Norwich and hopefully some light fields, then the BBML event at Pidley the next day.
Come on weather, sort it out!!!

After 4 consecutive visits by B-2723 788 on the new Hainan service into LHR, today’s B-2730 was a welcome change. However, cloud was too low to allow me to see it on departure a few minutes ago.
Another blank day.

Temporary blueness this morning, but with the clouds coming up fast from the SW - which made it rather a "cliff edge" race to see something coming up TR1. The plane won (for once) but not by very much. Two minutes later and it would have been no chance.
Much needed KC-135R 57-1428 of 151ARS/Tennessee ANG on its way inbound Mildenhall.

Another day with only occasional breaks in the cloud, luckily through one of them went VH-ZND 789 Qantas, now have all 4 of them (do they have more on order?) The South African 333s on the SA234/5 appear to have finished as back to a 346 today and showing as a 332 tomorrow, only managed 3 of the 5 333s (ZS-SXI/L/M).

No idea as to when they're due though.

Don't know why you would think that with all the Spitfires you have at Biggin! 😉 The flypast was indeed by the guys at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar for the RAF 100th commemoration All the best Mark

Another cloudy day, but clearer this evening enabled me to make 3 787 LHR movements, G-ZBKR outbound to Calgary, C-FVLX inbound from Toronto and B-2730 outbound to Changsha. Also EI-GJD 738 routing Kerry-Berlin.
Have been waiting for ZS-SXJ 333 on the SA237 due out of LHR at 21.00, still no sign of it, may be delayed until tomorrow. (Edit) SA237 now showing as cancelled.

Hi Jerry, Just out of interest, I sat at LHR from approx 15.00 to 19.30 yesterday, and ZS-SXJ was parked on the longer term parking gates on T2, it was there the whole time I was there... I potted it. There were two others; SXY (I think) that screamed (literally) away to JNB and the third was parked over at the BA maintenance area.... Cheers. Bill

Stonking day today. Started at Biggin Hill to see the French EC225 2235/FZ plus the departure from RAS of the BN2T G-CGTC in a grey scheme with a bump under the nose (looking very military!) Go home just in time to catch C17 07-7189, shortly folowed by my second Qantas 787 VH-ZNA on departure from LHR. LAN 767 N534LA, Lufthansa A350 D-AIXF, A319 A6-RRJ, Sentinel ZJ691 were the best of those OTT, while Heathrow visitors XA-ADC and leased 737 LY-BGC plus Rossiya A319 VP-BIU on climb out from Gatwick were great. ADS-B had several moments of meltdown today, but Planefinder took up the slack.

Rather nice gap-filling "SHUCK82" E-3B 77-0356 and "RCH203" C-17A 93-0603 for me today.
Have fun, Ollie. At least you are going at the right time as you won't need to do the field walk to see all the "SJ"s. Make sure you see Sunday and Monday arrivals and the Monday departures.

The chances are that the daily waves of "LN"s going out will all leave at the same time each day. So keep an eye on FC - and on here as I will post the times and identities in the relevant threads.
