Since I'd never been there before and it was such a short diversion off the main road home it seemed rude not to call in at Popham.
Glad I did. A very friendly place with lots of people happy to chat, lots going in the book as would be expected for a first visit and a few more unusual items like the Boredom Fighter. Probably worth a trip back later in the year to pick off a few more of the based aircraft that weren't on display while I was there. Planebase says there is an AN-2, Staggerwing and Stearman for starters that I didn't manage to see.
Again a few photos after the log with a more in the album (Popham 07-Apr-18).
One cheeky request, a hangar containing several autogyros was open. Four are listed in the log but there was a fifth that was covered with a red cover. The cover said it was a Magni M16. All that was really visible was the wheel fairings, which were white with red lower edges. The tail boom was also visible and red. Any ideas what it was? From pictures on the web and a 'based list' from Planebase G-YRON or G-YROP seem possible but confirmation or alternatives would be welcome.
