I will be there on Saturday & Sunday.I have been keeping an eye out on Popham's webcam and the signs that said "Airfield Closed" and "Airfield/No Circuits" have been taken down so assume that the airfield is fine for this major event.

Long range weather forecast looks promising !!
The bank holiday weekend looks quite promising in the south with plenty of dry weather and a good chance of warm sunshine, especially in the southeast.

I have been keeping an eye out on Popham's webcam and the signs that said "Airfield Closed" and "Airfield/No Circuits" have been taken down so assume that the airfield is fine for this major event. At the moment! I know there's still a week to go, but I was watching the weather forecast this morning and from tonight and most of tomorrow the forecast is about as bad as it can be with lots of heavy rain. I'm not looking forward to my job tomorrow! So keep watching the webcam. Don't forget that there's also the Aerojumble on bank holiday monday (7th) which, given good weather, is also a very busy day.

hi morning all, I've stopped that silly idea of going work after 50yrs of it, but I always thought , the rain gets warmer as we get into the year, also if the rains come down it has to be warm/sunny to get it back up there...well, now I've remembered that dirty 4 letter word, i'm off to lie down abit...

Thankfully the weather wasn't quite as bad as they were forecasting yesterday. The worst of the rain stayed further to the East and instead of a complete soaking I only got a bit wet. However I did feel for my colleagues (and other outside workers) who weren't able to breathe the same sigh of relief that I was today. You may 'Get used' to such bad weather, which is exactly why I was really dreading my job after watching that weather forecast yesterday morning. You know what you're letting yourself in for! Still, when you do get wet on the outside, there's only one thing left to do, that's get wet on the inside!! Cheers!!

Made 64 G- at Popham today- a great result!
The only AFAers I saw were Dylan and his grandad, but I was in the world’s slowest burger queue at the time, so couldn’t move!

A good day out, but slightly disappointing given the perfect weather today. Arrivals had almost dried up by 13.00 so decided to leave. Logged 174 and made 94, plus EI-WLA 773 Alitalia OTT. Just 1 non-UK, PH-VIR.

hi, a great day Sat. my first time for this show, thanks for the logs they helped a lot with my scribbled notes, and the photos why can't mine come out as good?. I did look out for the Reading FC, NYC, and New Zealand caps but no luck...perhaps the LAA at Sywell. Now 2 question's if I may, I saw about 5-7 hang glider powered "thingys", but with no reg's, they had AEROS on the steering bar, and were near the AIRPLAY display...? also the 65DAH/F-JBWO trainer, was that the unmarked cockpit/front fuselage in the exhibition area...?

F-JBWO/ 65-DAH was a Pipistrel Alpha in the large tent.
The only front fuselage I recall was a Lambert which I think appears here and LAA.
No idea on the Aeros and Euroflys- not sure if registered.

F-JBWO/ 65-DAH was a Pipistrel Alpha in the large tent. The only front fuselage I recall was a Lambert which I think appears here and LAA. No idea on the Aeros and Euroflys- not sure if registered. This appeared outside today (aerojumble day / 7th) along with a dutch example PH-VIR. I presume they departed together, though I didn't witness their departure.

Just arrived back home in Shropshire after a three day plane spotting trip with my wife. The trip included the following: Sat. 5th May en route = Kidlington. Sat. 5th May = Popham Microlight Trade Fair all day. Sun. 6th May = Popham Microlight Trade Fair - morning. Sun. 6th May = Lasham - afternoon. Mon. 7th May = Blackbushe - Farnborough - Fairoaks - Heathrow - Booker - Luton. Three days of glorious weather, 500 mile trip, hundreds logged, about 200 photos taken and the checking starts tomorrow. Popham was the best for a long time as I am sure all AFA members who visited would agree. Les
