Had a view of the flights from 07:00 until 12:00 this morning from the relative sanity of the Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port. Good views until the rain arrived. By all accounts trying to park at Speke was manic as there a lot of spotters about. Only one Ethiopian made it and also only Wind Rose, TUI Fly Belgium was another no-show.

Other aircraft were
2-SALE DA62 Twin Star D-IKEO Citation Mustang EI-GJO B737-8AS Ryanair
Early on the cloud was high enough to see the approach into Manchester from the north which passes very close to the east of the airport. LN-NIH B737-8JP Norwegian was the only one I copped
Back again tomorrow if the visibility is OK

Some nice obscure Rumanian and Ukraine airlines in there Graham, I didn't catch them this time but next time we have a charter extravaganza I'll be on the look out for them.
Regards
John

Hi John,
ZS-SXM A330 SAA which arrived back at LHR at 19.21, should be heading back to JNB tonight, it was scheduled to depart at 19.30 but it clearly hasn’t made that... So keep an eye out... I potted it on the way in.
The other two SAA machines positioned to Munich and Frankfurt from LPL...
Lots of empty legs (I think) today!!! Hope they got their coatings right.
Cheers.
Bill

A lot less aircraft than what has been seen in previous years, but a good weekend anyway

Took a trip north at the weekend to Liverpool for the return airlift from Kiev on Sunday. Weather was good in patches and variable at other times culminating in a thunder and lightning storm at the end of the day. A good mix of airliners was the draw and I managed to get most things during my 13 hour stint from 6am to 7pm. Only escapee was the Air Bucharest B737 which loitered all day on stand and departed 25 mins after I had left for the 4 hour return trip home! A big shout out to the North West Air News website as well for their comprehensive due-lists and movement coverage that encouraged me to make the trip up. Denis.

Wonderful time at LPL. SAA A340s seem to be a rarity at LHR these days!
