Hi Jeff
I'm curious about Heathrow's 3rd runway. I appreciate it's early days but is it likely that certain airlines will be asked to move en masse to the new infrastructure or will it be just short haul aircraft like A320/737 types? If the latter - I'm wondering how it might affect BA operations out of T5 - Any thoughts?
Cheers Keith

hi tbh ive no idea, currently departing aircraft are released depending on their next reporting point, ie (and very basically) left right or straight on. Having 3 departing runways in mixed mode operation would give some flexibility I guess. Of course they could build a domestic T6, and I have been told that the BA Waterside headquarters is built around a terminal design !, which would be very handy considering where the 3rd runway is going, by the plans, to be located I guess time will tell

Cheers for that - I just get the impression that it's a case of people saying hey we need another runway without putting any thought into a clear concise specification together with an assessment of implications for airlines and customers. Heyho!

Let's just say, there has already been a lot going on behind the scenes.
Lost of money already spent in planning and options etc.
