Cloudbase here at Mildenhall is 800ft with tops at 2500ft - and gradually lifting. Fortunately we have escaped any of the recent nasty weather.
Anyway, to start the ball rolling, nice morning visitor to the 'Hall was 02-1463 C-130J of 115AS/California ANG with "Channel Islands" fin band.

I am currently on a ferry to Ireland for a family holiday (my wife is Irish). Don’t expect to do much if any spotting, but called in at Haverfordwest on the way to Fishguard - everything was locked up, only machine outside was Irish Air Corps AW139 272.

A great start for me too, clear skies and great weather have helped quite a few go into the book. I took a ride out to Longbridge Deverill yesterday as the VR showed loads of gliders in the air over there, many of which I needed. Parked in the layby halfway between the Deverills and Mere which overlooks the field and sat there in the sunshine watching them. Haven't totted up yet but reckon I made about a dozen gliders plus a few ga buzzing around. Should take me to over a thousand for 2018.

Spent the day at my wife’s cousin’s house at Navan, NW of Dublin, blue sky and trails all day. Some DUB inbounds were visible, made frames (all EI-) FAU/FAW/FNA ATR72s, DUO/ELA A330s and GEV ATR42 all Aer Lingus and GJY 738 Ryanair. OTT were mainly what one would see over Southern England, but made 9V-SMQ A350 Singapore inbound MAN.

Another day at Navan yielded EI-GCF 330 Lingus and EI-GJZ 738 Ryanair DUB inbounds plus OTT 9V-SMN 350 Singapore and OY-PAC 321N Primera.
Then 3 days with another cousin in Dublin, wrong side of the city for movements, occasional outbounds over the house yielded scrape EI-LBS 757 and (a lucky break, the only one seen this morning) frame C-GUWJ 737 Westjet. The Lingus ATR72s also went overhead occasionally but annoyingly were the same 3 seen previously, FAU/FAW/FNA.
Now in Ennis, just north of SNN but full cloud cover, nothing seen.

With another extended period of 09 arrivals at LHR, the logbook has taken another hammering over the last week. It seems like only yesterday that Air Canada started 737MAX ops and yet I made two in ten minutes this morning making nine in all. The summer timetable is bringing a few nice extras as well like Latam 767, Tap A330 etc making the current direction even better.

Fantastic day at Cosford yesterday for the RAF100 Airshow. What an amazing effort made by the organisers - the static arrangement was superb and I guess will never be repeated.
I’ll post a log and photos, but the atmosphere around the static made the event what it was. I’m not usually a fan of people in period uniforms but on this occasion they added to it.
There was a Great War period line up with some museum pieces that don’t usually see the light of day. A WWII area with aircraft, vehicles, stage... And then some more modern line ups-
Meteor, Hunter, Lightning, Phantom, Tornado F3
Desert Storm c/s line up- Buccaneer, Jaguar, Tornado
Training line up- JPs, Bulldog, Chipmunk, Provost, Balliol
And many others, including about 30 of the based Jaguars dotted around the airfield.
There were also several highlights in the flying display- Sycamore, Polish MiG-29 including flypast with Hurricane and the unbelievable Red Bull Bo.105 Do not miss this Bo.105 if you get chance to see it!
Fantastic event- shame about the chaos leaving the airfield but partially due to an accident outside the airfield!

I'm afraid that the lure of my last RC-135 (S/U/V/W) going into the 'Hall this morning as "OLIVE56" - the elusive RC-135S Cobra Ball II 62-4128 - plus the "broken" Westover C-5M 86-0014 was too much for me. So an emergency trip up there for a couple of nights in the Travelodge was definitely in order. LOL
Will post visitor logs as usual.
Not that I need it, but the UAE AF GLEX 1326 came low over Melksham down TR1 around 11.35 this morning en route to Boscombe Down.
