Yes that's all I've got Dave, but I missed my last Korean 747-8 this evening. There are one or two others in prospect but I think the cloud will do for them all.

Fantastic day at Heathrow today. Arrived at 07.30, departed to Glasgow at 21.30. Left for a couple of hours to visit Aeroexpo at Booker.
First time at Heathrow this year- so caught up on lots of slack needs- BA, Virgin, EI- SAS... Made 83 !!!! throughout the day. Ridiculous- I used to be pleased if I made 20 there!
Also made 29 G- at Booker, 2 2- and a few foreign. Not many visitors due weather. Made 3 G- just from the car park at White Waltham G-OCRM, G-UCRM and G-STVZ.
Nothing new at Glasgow on arrival, but there is an EasyJet I need due in soon and I’ve got tomorrow morning here.

Morning all. I'm off to Cape Town tomorrow so if anybody has any hints or tips regarding spotting I'd appreaciate them. I'm on an organised rugby tour and I've got a couple of days to spare. I've already received a general security briefing from the tour operator and I'm not one to take unnecessary chances. Nigel

Hi Wrighty,I've been to Cape Town twice now (last time May 2016) and I can advise the following, there are two MSCP's,one at each end of the terminal, the left hand one overlooks a small cargo area and the right hand one overlooks part of the GA/hangar area.On the top floor of the terminal building there are some restaurants and in between the two main restaurants there is a small viewing area which overlooks the main runway and you shouldn't miss anything other than if they are landing from your right some of the smaller GA may turn off before reaching you.
Also if you have a car you should be able to gain access to the GA area, just tell the security guards that you are visiting the Flying Club, they usually make a note of the car registration number and may also photocopy your passport.
The South Africans love their planes and you shouldn't get any hassle at all.The only downside to Cape Town is that it's nowhere near as busy as Jo'burg but if you haven't been there either than you should pick up quite a bit @ Cape Town.
Lastly,if you have a car then head down to the V & A shopping mall, here you can walk to the Helipad where they do scenic flights, should be good for a dozen or so.
Have a great trip.

Has anybody else noticed the plot of ACA823, out of LHR for St Johns, is now showing in the Bay of Bisacy as per FR24.
|
|
|
Post by rh226 on Jun 17, 2018 14:26:00 GMT
It is purely down to the unusual split arrangement of the NAT tracks today. ACA823 is showing on Planeplotter as following NAT track J (starts at 46N15W - off the middle of Biscay) and approaching 46N20W.
Today's tracks G, H, J are the ones that come into the US over Newfoundland (suitable for the American continent East Coast). Tracks A - F come in over Labrador (Goose Bay and further North) and so would be suitable for Central and Western Canada and US.

Today was one of those days when you have a bit of blue followed by sheds loads of cloud and it's while it's cloudy that possible pots come over, not all doom & gloom as I managed to log two in very quick succession this morning during one of the small patches of blue that was around:
