The 'RAF 100' is of course not the only mass flypast taking place next week. I will be making my annual trip to Paris for the Bastille Day flypast, this year consisting of 94 aircraft which is about par for the course. For anyone else that may be attending, the French have released details of the participants as follows -
French Air Force 2 x C135, A330MRTT, A340, A400M, C130J, C160, 2 x CN235, E3F, 4 x Xingu, 2 x SR20, 2 x Extra 330, 13 x Mirage 2000, 7 x Rafale, 6 x AlphaJet, 3 x Fennec, 2 x Caracal, plus the PdeF.
French Navy Atlantic, Falcon 50, 4 x Rafale, Caiman, Dauphin
French Army 4 x Tiger, 4 x Caiman, 3 x Gazelle, 3 x Puma, Caracal, Cougar, 2 x Pilatus PC6
Gendarmerie EC135, EC145
Security Civile DHC Dash 8, Canadair CL 415, 2 X EC145
Belgian Air Force AlphaJet
German Air Force A400M
Singapore Air Force M346
The A330 is the first French tanker version and is flying from Getafe with a mixed Airbus and French AF crew. The Singapore Air Force M346 is a welcome addition, being based in France where they replaced the A4 Skyhawks with the training unit.
As usual Le Bourget should host a number of visiting aircraft, particularly associated with the 4000 odd personnel who will be marching in the parade. The Japanese Prime Minister is a guest as there are a number of Japanese troops in the march past this year, plus the usual selection from the former French colonies.
