A long day out from Fareham with Tim Bryan the main aim being to see the Ex Saudi E-170s at Norwich.
Driving by Heathrow noted departing were G-ZBKP B787 BA, A6-EEN A380 Emirates and JA-843J B787 JAL.
While driving up the M11 N988HC G650 was noted inbound Luton.
First stop was Cambridge where 1325 Global 6000 UAE AF was outside fully painted and looking immaculate..
Next it was a lap of Mildenhall. The two broken C-130s were seen 165349/JW C-130T and 65-0989/DM EC-130H. KC-135s present were 60-0324, 60-0333, 60-0355, 61-0288, 61-0321 and 62-3551. Also present was WC-135W 62-3582 which had arrived earlier.
Arrived at Lakenheath to hear that 10 F-16s had landed half an hour earlier. Ho hum. 02 C-17 NATO was the only thing noted.
Norwich was the next stop. The five E-170s were easily seen as you park quite close to them. They are marked on the nose as 1700119, 1700124, 1700142, 1700152 and 1700155. Three 146s are also parked close by including EI-WXA RJ-85 ex CityJet.
SE-DSY RJ-100 Malmo departed as did PH-EXL E175 KLM. Helicopters seen were G-SNSE AW139, G-VINJ AW189 and OO-NSN AW139. Parked by the Saxon hanger was N360SL CL604 and a Ce510 landed around 14.25 but was immediately hangered and escaped I.d.
Last stop of the day was Stansted. We arrived at 4.15 and left just after 6. Eight Ryanair EI-Gs were seen and a number of the newer Jet2 73s. Other airliners seen were OY-PAA A321 Primera, A6-EQL B777 Emirates, TF-WIN A321 WOW and TC-CPZ B737 Pegasus. Freighters noted were HL-7421 B747 Asiana, N359UP B767 + N431UP B757 UPS and N521FE MD-11 + N853FD B777 FedEx.
Biz seen were N168NW G650, N194WM Global, A6-SMS Fa-8X, P4-XTL B777, G-MRLX G550, P4- BFK Global, N539CA Fa900EX, T7-FTH A310, N899YF G650, N524AG G5, LV-CAZ G400, HS-VSK G650, 9H-BOO CRJ and 9M-III BBJ.
As it was a virtually clear blue sky a number of overflights were seen including XA-ADH B787 Areomexico, OH-LZU A321 Finnair, G-ESNA Phenom and N550WW G5.
Noted departing Heathrow as we drove by were JA-784A B777 ANA and G-ZBJJ B787 BA. EC-MXV A350 Iberia later overtook us as we drove down the M3
So after twelve hours and 472 miles I dropped Tim off in Fareham. It's so much easier when you've got a wingman!
