Dear all, we are always grateful for all contributions to the forum here, not least of all the photos that members take the time and trouble to upload, which always bring the threads and reports to life.
Proboards are our hosts here and they allow us to use the forum completely free of charge as long as we are happy to "endure" the ads which we could remove, but would cost a fortune to do so.
Proboards places a strict limit on the amount of space they allow us, and every other forum they host ( and there are thousands...). If we exceed that limit then the forum will slow right down and eventually become unusable. Because of this, we have to insist that any photos uploaded to AFA are hosted by a third party storage facility such as Flickr or Photobucket. All photos posted like this do not use any space here on AFA. However, any photos that are posted directly from a member's photo folder do use up this space and it doesn't take many photos to deplete the allowance we have. We could purchase additional space, but again, this costs a great deal of money which is something we can't consider.
Jeff has noticed this morning that we are very close to our limit and this is due to a considerable number of photos that have been uploaded in the manner described above. Jeff will have no option but to delete these shots to free up our available space before we grind to a halt.
So, to our members who have uploaded these photos, thank you, we are truly grateful as we are for any contributions, without you guys the forum doesn't exist, but they will have to be hosted photos.
Setting up a Flickr or Photobucket account takes a few minutes, Flickr is totally free ( not sure about PB)and using the BB code to show a photo on the forum is easy once you know how. They are directions on the forum as to how to do this but if anyone would like a reminder, then we're happy to do so.
As always, thanks to everyone who contributes to the forum, but please, from now on, only use photos from a third party host as we have no option other than to delete those that aren't.
Best wishes
Graham, Jeff, Bill, Bob & Mark
