I know Bob has mentioned the C.2s at Mildenhall but I haven’t seen mention of the carrier visit yet?
So apologies if there is a thread elsewhere, but it appears that the Truman is expected into Stokes Bay next weekend.
Hopefully see some of you on the boat trip!

hi, just been googling the CVN-72, and one interesting point is she deployed to Europe on 11/4/18, returned to Norfolk 21/7/18, had some work done, re-deployed 28/8/18 as part of a "new dynamic force employment concept which will allow the USN, to be operationally unpredictable." So no one can predict who and what's where... even for how long, as the usual deployment is 6-7months, so this could mean a carrier visit more often... hopefully.

For the number crunchers amongst us, please note that it is the same Air Wing that was on the "Theodore Roosevelt" in March 2015.
One of the F/A-18 squadrons has changed (not USMC this time) and the helicopters are all different. The rest is much the same.
So, using the modex codes, we have:-
AB-1xx VFA-11 F/A-18F almost identical AB-2xx VFA-211 F/A-18F almost identical AB-3xx VFA-136 F/A-18E almost identical AB-4xx VFA-81 F/A-18E new squadron AB-5xx VAQ-137 EA-18G almost identical AB-60x VAW-126 E-2D mostly different AB-61x HSC-11 MH-60S all new, as squadron has re-equipped with MH-60S (also re-designated from HS-11) AB-7xx HSM-72 MH-60R all new, not deployed last time

Could be slightly uncomfortable boat trips this afternoon! Forecast heavy rain and gusting knots 34!
Fortunately, Sunday afternoon looks better- I’m taking my 11 year old daughter on the 3pm trip- I don’t think she’d enjoy it today!!

The situation on Sunday 7th October 2018
I have done this for those members who are not on FC and cannot access the relevant section on there.
In compiling this, I started with the excellent listing at usmfll.blogspot.com/ and then used various postings on FC. Credits at the end.
No comment at the side means it was on deck and visible.

Thanks John, fingers crossed she'll still be there then.. .
EDIt - took a look at your suggestion John. All it mentions are "foreign warships" which I assume is the carrier plus accompanying ships? If so then the good news is that they don't sail until 1400 BST

If so then the good news is that they don't sail until 1400 BST Hi Graham I've just looked at Wednesdays sheet The Foreign Warship leaving PRJ (Princess Royal Jetty) at 14.00 is USS FARRAGUT Destroyer ( Seen on the Jetty this afternoon, its hangers were both shut). You can see the ship from the Gosport Ferry Terminal on it's berth on the Portsmouth side. The Foreign Warship leaving C Anchor (Charlie Anchorage) at 14.30 is USS HARRY S TRUEMAN John

Hi All
Took the trip out on Monday 8th (10am ferry). Wondering if anyone can confirm if F18 403/166833 was on deck? I have the code noted on my scribbled listings taken on Monday as being present on deck, but note that from other reports (albeit 2 days before) it was below decks. A possible misread on my part, but I guess things move about so thought it worth checking with others visiting on the 8th. Thanks in advance Tony
