For my money, one of the most graceful and best looking airplanes ever made

Hi Graham
Also one of the most sinister looking aircraft too!! I think it could carry a few more thousand pounders than a Vulcan.
As a lad we made several visits to Radlett in 1969/70 to look in awe at the lineup of B2's awaiting conversion to tankers. Visits to Marham and Wyton in 71/72 whilst in the Air Cadets just about nailed my haul for the Victor (excluding losses).
Cheers Keith

Hi Keith
Yes, I fitted in a few trips to those fields in the 70's and 80's but was way too late to see some of the earliest Victors. PlaneBase says that a total of 86 were built of which I've seen a modest 40. I took a look at the Vulcans too, and saw 65 out of 136 of those although many had already been broken up before I started spotting in 1969.
Bob, I had heard of the last "flight" but had never seen a video of it so thanks for that.
