Typical news outlets,Sky News show a picture of a B767 and then state that a B737 similar to the one in picture.
Very sad news,hope for survivors.

Plus the Norwegian one LN-BKE that diverted to Iran and stuck for at least 6 weeks while they tried to fix the engine fault Wasn't the length of time that LN-BKE was stuck in Iran due to imposed sanctions? This would delay fixing the fault due to waiting for parts to come through. If it had diverted to another country, unaffected by any political sanctions, the problem would surely have been fixed so much quicker.

If I were about to fly in a max right now, I think I might be a bit nervous until they determine the cause of this one.

I've just watched the news on ITV and their main video during their report is an A350 (you couldn't make it up).

Have been hearing it "might" be something to do with a faulty sensor that's linked to the stall control. If I recall, the earlier Lion Air crash also involved the aircraft concerned nose diving into the ground so possibly some common fault?

hi, on last nights news it told of the above grounded, but none from Europe or the US, Southwest have 34 and more or less said they were confident with there maintenance and flight procedures I surely hope they are right... Is it not a type grounding or just a advisory then anyone who wants to can? or have the airlines above had a specific run off the production line?. Does seem odd that only 120 of 380 are being grounded.
regards, dave...

That's going to be awkward Norwegian what with their on going 787 problem. Also begs the question as to what type Air Canada will use into LHR while this ban stays in place

I'll guess they'll revert to their 'ordinary' 737-800s (SP-LW* registered) or maybe treat us to another spell of 787s!

I see that GOL has resumed 737MAX flights. How do our members feel about flying on a MAX, or Ryanair’s 737-8200!?

I see that GOL has resumed 737MAX flights. How do our members feel about flying on a MAX, or Ryanair’s 737-8200!? Perfectly happy. Rather like the situation following the lifting of the 1979 grounding of the DC10s after the Chicago AA crash, its the most crawled over type from a safety perspective. I think Ryanair still awaits final certification approval for the additional emergency exit required for the larger capacity 8200.
