I knew that a local pilot (James Ketchell) was due to depart on his epic round the world trip in his gyro G-KTCH (which I needed) so we popped in and mighty glad we did because all of the Gyro hangars were open and there were also a lot of visiting gyro's as well (obviously to see him off).
Gyro's hangared:

Hi Dave
Well done, I was just typing a list and then saw yours! I have one query- I have G-YRON as outside the gyro hangar, and I don’t have G-YROP down. Is “P” definitely correct? I may have made a mistake as I was rushing round typing into my phone with my family in the car! Annoyingly I took a snap of all others outside at that time, but that had people around it!
I returned an hour or so later and there was another on the back row which I could only make out as G-C... At this point nobody seemed to be walking into the field. Possibly it had repositioned from somewhere else and I had already logged it, but otherwise it was a 30th.
I also logged G-HPWA Van’s RV.8A as per Starlifter’s list of the previous day.
Cheers Phil

Afternoon Phil,
I've double checked my notes and yes G-YROR is correct and I have missed off G-YRON & G-HPWA,I will edit my log accordingly, when I got there G-YRON was inside the hangar.
I've got a total now of 30,we did check with the guys on the radio and they stated that when G-JBRE arrives, that would be the last one expected.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave
Thanks for confirming YRON. It was YROP I was also unsure of (not YROR), but not too important as don’t need them!
I was lucky enough to be driving past yesterday afternoon and so the family got treated to a couple of short stops!!
Thanks again Phil

On 1 April David Allum reported the departure from Popham of G-KTCH on a projected round the world gyrocopter flight. Just to record that James Ketchell is on track and has now safely crossed the Bering Strait from Russia to Nome, Alaska.
