Complete blank today - 100% cloud cover, low enough to blot out the LHR09 approach. But don’t think I missed much, apart from SP-LMA E.190 LOT on the LO281, one of the newer ones which have been operating into LCY on the LO287/9 and 2201/3.
Forecast better for tomorrow.

Totally fed up with the poor visibility and LHR staying on 09s, so I took a trip to Heathrow today. As well as new Ethiopian A350 ET-AWM, I made Aeroflot A321 VP-BES, Air Canada 787 C-FVND, and my first Cina Southern 787-9 B1297. The regulars were all there for the surprise movement, Air Mauritius A330-900 3B-NBU from Toulouse on delivery to Port Louis. That will do nicely, even though I had to leave before the RAM 787 CN-RGX.

Unlike Rugbyref, LHR on 09 is good for me but the haze made things difficult. However like him I made C-FVND, 3B-NBU and ET-AWM plus CN-RGX and late arrival B-307A 350 Air China. But missed VP-BES one of my last 3 Aeroflot 321s plus SP-LNK E190 LOT which visited twice.
A bonus was UR-82072 AN124 Antonov Design Bureau - only discovered I needed this last week shortly after I had missed it heading for Brize, but headed SE big trail at FL330 just as 3B-NBU was on final approach to LHR.

Seem to have been making two 787s a day recently - today’s were A6-BME Etihad EY13 (the first 78X into LHR?) and CN-RGS RAM AT800, both on LHR 09 approach. Have made 47 787s so far this year! Missed a third, N12004 United UA85 TLV-JFK. Also made F-HTVE Transavia France 738 returning to Orly and N335QT Avianca Cargo 330F QT4046 BRU-MIA.
Missed UR-CSI Cavok AN-12, heard it as it passed south of me but could not spot it looking into the sun.
(later) Today’s Capital JD431 from Chingdao is a 333 rather than the usual 332, B-1042, due to land around 21.00.

The visibility was much better today, so some making their way around London for 09s at LHR could be seen, including A6-BME, and this afternoon/evening B-1242 China Southern 787-9, B-1042 A330 Capital, B-1083 A350 Air China. Also saw AN12 UR-CSI this morning on its way west, and C17 99-0062.

LHR still on 09, but nothing noted of interest except for SP-LNM E.190 LOT which I could not spot through the morning haze. But still made my daily dose of 787s, N12004 78X United UA961 FRA-EWR and SP-LSD 789 LOT LO26 WAW-JFK.
Also made G-EZGX 320 easyJet out of GLA (only recently discovered I needed this) and ES-SAS 320 Smartlynx operating for Norwegian.

The light held just long enough to make PAL A350 RP-C3504 and Aeroflot A321 VP-BKQ crossing north London en route to LHR. Earlier the Rossiya 747 EI-XLJ was a colourful overflight on the same Southerly route as a SAS330 and the LOT 787 SP-LSD. Also caught the newish Easyjet UZHV working from Bristol across to Europe. Some survey work was going on around Kent, so made a pair of P68s, HUBB and RVRE.

Had to wait till late for a frame into LHR on 09, B-1086 Air China 350, my last one. Getting difficult to make a Chinese nowadays, I have all the Air China 332s, 350s and 773s (not using their 333s at present), all the Tianjin 330s, all the Capital 332s (though they did use a 333 last week), all the China Southern 332s and all the 333s they have used so far (they have a few more but they have a different seat configuration) and all the Hainan 788s. They have a large fleet of 789s but only a few have visited so far. Shenzhen have 5 333s and I only have 3, missed one of the others a few weeks ago, don’t think the other has visited.
Also made F-HTVL 738 Transavia France, a recent acquisition from China. Scrapes were SP-RSA/B Ryanair Sun and N917XA 738 Smartwings operating for CSA out of BHX.
(edit) Late night extra 4X-ICD 744F Cargo Lines inbound LGG.

Great day yesterday, fabulous weather, and between redecorating the kitchen, found plenty of time to see what was about. The Asiana B744 was a surprise frame for me, with my PPm only showing needed frames, I knew it was one for the book but if I'd been using FR24 or one of the other VR's, I doubt I would have taken any notice of it as I would have assumed I didn't need it.

Yeah, just seen it. And to think I shot up to Fairford this lunchtime to make it!! No sign of the U-2s though, unfortunately.
Mind you, if I hadn't gone up there, it would have probably routed out to the North. With the few I need, I wasn't taking any chances.
Obviously the damage wasn't too bad when its nosewheel collapsed on landing at Travis very late January.
