13.57 Heard first, then seen over to the west heading North this really odd trio OY-THP PC12 'JACK & JONES' HELICOPTER SPITFIRE This turns out to be Round the World Spitfire IX G-IRTY on its way from Goodwood to Newcastle then on to Lossiemouth for overnight on the beginning of its round the world flight. OY-THP is the support ship and I presume the helicopter was doing some photography although I didn't take in the type I was just concentrating on the other two. OY-THP was on fr24 & Planefinder replay but not the other two www.silverspitfire.com/www.silverspitfire.com/about/route-map/Other sightings this afternoon include 14.05 N60JM PA46 heading to Fairoaks id etc per fr24 14.34 G-RVNK P68 heading Southish id per fr24 16.27 G-DHCZ Beaver heading northish 16.55 Apache heading Westish 18.06 G-BJEC islander heading Northish Regards John

Hi Keith
I was taken by surprise, didn't know about the event (might have nipped down to Goodwood if I'd known), lucky I was outside lopping bushes, just a really interesting noise had me racing round trees to get a view, then back to grab a camera then one shot at the PC12 before the all disappeared from view
Another observer has the Helicopter as R66 G-NJNH,
Probably the most intriguing noise combination since the Skyvan/Vimy Replica combination had me racing for a window on the Vimy's final flight into Brooklands
Regards
John
