Can anyone give me a current status as to whether the B2s are in / out. Will be driving past Swindon in next half hour and wondering if worth the detour?
Many thanks Tony
Yep...worth the detour!

"RCH477" 87-0042 C-5M ...........departed around 11:20BST to Ramstein AB, Germany
Went to see the B-52H today and found it not in the normal area down by the Marston Meysey crash gate. All I could see from there was most of its LH wing.
It is parked on one of the hardstands just off, and further along, the Southern taxiway. So, the best vantage point to see it is by the Northern crash gate.
Go through Marston Meysey village, taking the LH bend at the end, and continue along the road past the runway lights and centre line. Turn right at the next turning and continue along this road until passing through a wooded area. At the end of the woods, turn right at a crossroads and go down this single track road to the crash gate (on a sharp LH bend). There is parking for several cars.

A quick and highly succesfull visit today with the indomitable Bill Samuels saw Mytee 22 "Spirit of Mississippi" & Mytee 21 "Spirit of New York" returning from this morning's mission while "Spirit of Georgia" was outside the RUB having some TLC and the (unservicable?) B52 was further down towards Marston Masey. Both departed again later directly over Kemble after our lunch there in the AV8. IMG_9193 by dave tompkins, on Flickr IMG_9201 by dave tompkins, on Flickr

Well done, you two. Picked your time nicely.
From the 1st picture, I can now see why someone on FC likened them to sparrows (that was last time they were over)

"SCALP99" 60-0041 B-52H........departed at 08:52BST...
Routing up the Daventry corridor, then via Waddington and Leeming. After spending time in the D323 danger area complex, it (apparently) re-filed its flight plan and went on a tour of the UK before doing a flypast at the Sanicole show (just E of Leopoldsburg and SW of Kleine-Brogel AB, Belgium) at 17:00BST. Returned therefrom via OTT Norwich (at 17:31BST), Marham (at 17:36BST) and down the Daventry corridor.
.....................returned at around 18:05BST
