"September, it's what we've waited for all year", according to the words of a famed poet whose name escapes me. After the summer we had, or rather endured, let's hope for a glimmer of truth in those words.

Made the latest BA 321n G-NEOV today, but just missed the Turkish 787 into Heathrow as I was on the phone to HMRC. It felt like I had stumbled into an episode of Yes Minister. ‘I have already sent you details of interest received last tax year. Yes, but you need to specify it by account number. And you say you already have this information from the building society. Yes but you need to put it on the form.’

Phil, don talk to me about HMRC and the IR. In my previous job, I ran my own car for business and was therefore entitled to claim back business mileage at something like 40p per mile for the first 15,000 miles and then 25p per mile for all subsequent miles. I always sent them "truthful" claims yet am still battling them two years on for what is rightfully mine. We're talking about a few hundred quid, but you'd think I was claiming for thousands.

Was working up in Gloucester today but a meeting that took longer that expected meant I didn't have time to call into Staverton. So, feeling rather peeved, I headed down the A419 and thought I'd just try my luck at Fairford. Well, lady luck was with me as I drove along a spotter infested Kempsford road to find two C-5's parked up and all three B-2s outside which I think had possibly just landed. Then for the icing on the cake, as I was threading my way through the lanes back to Swindon, Kuwaiti AF C-130 KAF328 sailed past me in clear skies.
The pots at Fairford were C-5 87-0036 and B-2s 82-1071 and 89-0129.

Hi Deke,
Your RC-26 was, I'm afraid, just a plain C-26E 91-00507 - "PAT171" out of Glasgow to Wiesbaden.
Evidently, it has a miscoded box.
I'm still jealous, though. LOL
Bob
PS:- The RC-26Bs are all USAF and would not use a "PATxxx" callsign.

A day working around Cirencester yesterday so nipped into Kemble where I made...
G-AWKO - B121 G-BZKL - PA28R T7-KEN - SR20, was parked close to the tower and may not have been immediately noticeable to some visitors
As I arrived in the AV8 car park a Stearman departed, blue and white scheme coded "17", any takers please?
Then on to Staverton to make up for the missed call in earlier this week where I made...
N122DR - SR22 N78MC - SR22
Again, at least 2-3 choppers inside the Babcock hangar but impossible to get any ID's

Hi Bob, thanks for that, I would have had absolutely no idea, the input of more knowledgeable members here is invaluable. Agreed, still a fortuitous bit of spotting. Sadly I missed a 2nd C32 that came over minutes after 98-0001 . Thanks again. Hi Deke,

The Turkish 787 TC-LLF on its second visit earlier this week was an appropriate way to reach 33,000 frames. (I have not really been bothered by GA over the years, so happy with this figure.)
