Touring the south of Corfu today, including pulling off the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle and needing a tow truck to get us going again! (No, I wasn’t the driver!). Nevertheless managed to make 4 frames, 320s OE-LOU Laudamotion, ES-SAT Smartlynx and SU-BPU Air Cairo, plus M-SEXY E.135. Scrapes were D-AIAI 321 Condor, OE-LYZ 320 Eurowings, VQ-BGO 738 Nordstar and SX-SIX ATR42 Sky Express.
Drove past the north of the airport, parked were G-GILB C.510 and G-SDRY C.525B. Across the runway were two cropsprayers, which I think were Cessna A188Bs, unfortunately there are loads of these on the Greek register. They were yellow and black, does anyone know which ones are based in Corfu?

The airport is listed as Ioannis Kapodistrias on Plane Base but it has nothing listed as based there

Just a thought Jerry, most Greek islands have a couple of Hellenic AF PZL-Mielec Dromaders based at the airport for fire fighting duties, from a distance they're certainly not dissimilar from a C188 and the black/yellow scheme could well fit the bill. We taxied past a pair on Kefalonia in 2017.

The PZL was my first thought, but when I found there were none on the Greek civil register I changed my mind - I had not considered military. They have 22 in service, unlikely I will identify the two seen!

As Graham said, usually a pair of PZLs are sent to each of the main islands for the summer on fire fighting duties and remain there for the season. The two noted at Corfu last month were 069 and 202. Unlikely that they would have changed but you never quite know.

To corroborate Davebasing, I was there on 4th August and logged 202. The An2 parked next to them was LY-ABT (If its still there?)

Thanks to all who contributed to my Corfu saga. Yes, the AN-2 is LY-ABT, colour scheme identical to a report I googled (sorry, can’t remember the source).
Clouded over early, dull all day and heavy rain this evening. Just two scrapes, 738s N624XA of Smartwings and 9H-QAE Ryanair.

Evening boys.
I’m rather embarrassed at placing, in public view, my last week, or so, of logging... Today, with overcast from about 9.45am started quite nicely, then petered out, and then sparked into life after 6pm. But here’s today’s list....
N474D Gulf 5 OTT 07.05 heading towards Clacton. TC-ICG Legacy 650 Arr FAB 08.07. G-YFOX Falcon 2000 Arr FAB 08.35. N604EG CL604 o/f heading South 08.37. G-BERY AA-1B Trainer o/f heading west then NW. D-AGBB Falcon 8X ex FAB 09.29 heading towards Clacton. EC-KKD Beech 400 o/f towards STN/LTN 09.35. N56EL Gulf 450 Arr FAB 18.35. N57EL Gulf 450 Arr FAB 18.40.
So a respectable 9, unlike the 32 one day last week....
Happy hunting fellas.
Bill

Back from Corfu today. Last couple of days have been cloudy with some rain, nothing to report. But made 4 Greek frames at CFU this morning before flying home on G-EZTM - SX-EMY 320 Ellinair, SX-THR ATR-72 Go-Air, SX-GRI ATR-42 Sky Express and SX-OBH DHC8-400 Olympic.
LGW yielded a trio of 789s, G-CKWF/T Norwegian and C-GURP Westjet.
Hope to get one of my last 3 EVA 777s this evening, B-16722 is due out of LHR at 21.35.......(later) yes made this went overhead on departure over an hour late, also made UK78705 788 Uzbekhistan, 9H-QAH Ryanair was a scrape.

Looking after my Mom near BHX today meant a couple of drop ins yielding these, fortuitously in the case of the military frames, sadly somehow didn't see the Polish CASA which apparently was still on site on the earlier visit but I was rushing.
