We didn't even get the pleasure of the "ROMA" departing as it went tech and is now postponed into Monday.

Saturday 26th October 2019
Miserable day. High winds this morning with rain starting around lunchtime until teatime......and didn't the temperature drop as the cold front went through!!
Mildenhall Departures 10:53BST "RCH157" 62-3528...…..the old "NACHO" 13:11BST "ROMA31" 79-0434 19:44BST "QID101" 62-3580...…..back to Moron after maintenance (arrived 30/09)
Lakenheath Arrival 10:51BST "RCH343" 60-0322 KC-135R 72ARS/AFRC...….divert from Mildenhall due cross-winds......the new "NACHO" TDY machine
"RCH343" was originally was going to divert to Ramstein, but they refused it because it hadn't got a PPR plate (Prior Permission Required number), so Lakenheath was persuaded to accept it once they opened for business.
We also lost "RCH966" 337AS/AFRC C-5M 87-0043 due to the cross-winds being out of limits.
The "ROMA" seems to have abandoned its charges for Monday and has gone home to McGuire AFB.
Other than that, we have had five based tankers return from various overseas locations......and that was it.

One does not expect a lot from Sundays nowadays.
Mildenhall Arrivals 14:00z "RCH729" 62-3540 KC-135R 100ARW (ex 22ARW)……….replacement one for 100ARW - see Mildenhall Based List thread 15:35z "RCH966" 87-0043 C-5M 337AS/AFRC
The only other movement was the arrival of the last "wandering" based KC-135.
The C-5M was the one that had to divert yesterday morning due to the high cross winds. It should depart tomorrow for CONUS.

Two other based tankers went to Moron AB, Spain under "RCH" callsigns. I suspect these will be involved in the return of the 493FS F-15Cs from Gando AB, Canary Islands, where they have been participating in Ex. Ocean Sky 2019.

Only one visitor troubled the log before we set off at 10:25.
Mildenhall Arrivals 09:49z "NAF63 T-235 KDC-10 RNLAF........two approaches and departed
Good journey home in just over 4 hours driving time and I did escape Bletchley in time.
A goodly haul from the visit, as it is getting harder to make anything nowadays. Just think that 23 of those 48 were F-15s (10x MOs, 9x SJs and 4x RSAF).
Eagerly awaiting an excuse for an "emergency" visit!!
