Thursday 10th October 2019
Up @ silly o'clock to make our way to the eagerly awaited balloon fiesta, this year they had four park & ride locations dotted around Albuquerque and the nearest to us was at the Cottonwood shopping mall some 10 mins from our house, from here it was a further 10/15 mins by bus to the launch site.I will put the logs into the relevant section as soon as my mate has checked & double-checked his photos as many of you who have been to this event will testify, the reg's on U.S balloons are very small and most times it is only carried once on the balloon.I did log what I could but I will wait for my mate to confirm before posting.
The following were noted overflying during the launch:
N354P AS350B3 Ecureuil
N728FD A300F FedEx
N134TV AS350B2 Ecureuil
N431WN B737 Southwest
N133FE B767F FedEx
Also on this day my mate had contacted Eclipse Aerospace in advance to see if we could have a tour of their facilities and we were highly delighted when they said yes,so it was booked for 11am.
We had bought a present for the young lady who had arranged it for us,things like British chocolate, shortbread, tea etc and she was highly delighted with this, within a few minutes she was joined by her boss who took us on a tour.First hangar was the main production building and contained the following:
N5184U Eclipse Concept Jet
EA500/550's msn's 1014,1015,1016,1017,1018,1019,1020 & 1021
After about 45 minutes of a very informative tour the guy asked if we would like to see some completed aircraft and of course the answer was yes so we walked across the apron into another hangar which contained the following:
N55BX Eclipse EA500
N777ZY Eclipse EA500
N229EA Eclipse EA500
N777VE Eclipse EA550
N118HX Eclipse EA550
N284BG Eclipse EA550
The hangar also contained a Cirrus SR22 which was unmarked, the guy told us that it belonged to the CEO of Cirrus but he couldn't remember the reg.
We were both given a goodie bag and we said our goodbyes with the message that anyone is welcome to a tour if in the area so I will need to dig out their details and put it on here.
The following is a list of stuff logged before & after the tour.
