The late change of expected arrival time to 13.25 gave us the tight but unexpected opportunity to make the journey south.
Car Parking was well organised as was the event itself.
G-IRTY SPITFIRE MK LF IX arrived overhead going across the airfield at 13.33 flanked by a couple of Red Arrows Hawks (XX278 & XX310 Thanks Bob) trailing white smoke
The next pass was by the Spitfire itself including a Barrell Roll.
The final pass was with its support ship
OY-THP PC12
The PC12 landed first and parked up followed by the Spitfire.
The pilots got a great reception from an appreciative crowd as they left their aircraft, they also found time to make it over to the public fenceline, in fact Steve Brooks made it to the end of the crowdline chatting and handshaking so I can tell you firsthand that they were really appreciative of the public reception they got, and the event certainly had an impressive inclusive feel.
There were probably 3-400 in the public areas and I could see 100 plus including media airside on the Boultbee apron
Obvious visitors for the event included
G-BHJU Robin
G-RIIV Vans RV4
G-CHHI Vans RV7
G-BGOL PA28
G-FORZ PITTS
G-CDME VANS RV7
Others on the airfield including those that could be worked out in a an open hanger

The PC12 left later in the day for Schiphol
The new café is now open and looked smart but we didn't try it out this time
