N818LD shows as a Bae125-700A on LAAS and FAA Registry.
This appears as said to be a Hawker 800XP

“Jesus” indeed...
Utter waste of some perfectly good airplanes!!!
As for the DC-6, that alone should be a criminal offence!!!
Such a waste....

Agreed Bill, Nearly all landings by narcotic flights are designed to be a one-shot deal, with the actual hull value in $$$$s being small beer compared to the consignment. As long as the consignment arrives (irrespective of whether the airframe, the pilot / crew survives), the frames and their remains are torched to eliminate forensics.
ASN gives some interesting history of the use of regn N818LD - obviously a narco favourite
HS125 variants are often favoured for their rugged durability in what are homemade strips / jungle clearings, rather than other more fragile e.g. Lear variants. Good payloads are also a factor.
The witnessed and shadowed take off of the latest.Hawker suggests a seized and recovered airframe by the authorities, rather than a Cartel re-using the jet - too much risk compared to what for them would be a modest expense.
Spectacular - nay reckless - under any circumstances...

The DC6 landing shown above was a commercial operation, according to Aviation Herald, so apparently was not drug running.

Funny that, using IE, I can't see anything to view. However, switch to Chrome and I can!!
The DC-6, incidentally, was formerly US Navy C-118B BuNo 131609.
