Got a few in Miami before leaving for Key West where aircraft approach low over the town.

We couldn’t get accommodation in Key West so we stayed 30 minutes up the road in Ramrod Key.

Day 22
Back to Miami today but Kay wanted her nails done so I stopped by Marathon airport as I had seen a yellow Waco doing flights the day before. There was also a small EAA museum there.

There was also an unregistered Bradley BA100 which the EAA completed as a project after the builder died. The curator told me that he knew of 12 in existence but none had legally flown because of stability problems. I had a bit of spare time and drove down the spamcan park to see if there was anything worth a picture. I shot a V Bonanza and an old straight tailed Cessna 172.

We went to our hotel in Miami and I’m glad to say it had a rooftop pool and bar and was situated between that approach to the parallel runways with views of the diagonal runway also. I had nearly two hours to spot.

Day 23
Time for a bit of spotting at the hotel before we set off for the Hard Rock guitar hotel where Fort Lauderdale approaches could be seen. We went on to lunch at Fort Lauderdale beach where more movements could be seen.

We rose to a rainy day and went straight to Orlando airport arriving early enough for me to have a couple of trips up to the parking garage. We also got to the gate very early so more spotting was possible before departure.

Our 747 G-VROM arrived to bring an end to a great trip. I made a handful short of 1300 airliners and now I have to go through tons of photos, some of which I will post later.
