Missed the Aeroflot 777 this morning as the mist hid it both on the downwind approach and after departure. On departure it was so close to the company A321 that they might as well have flown in formation back to Moscow!

Before I get to todays log, I would like to take a moment to ask all of you who have young children or Grand children, nephews, nieces, or even the kids next door, to display a home made "Stay Safe" Rainbow picture in their windows. Personally speaking, it really does make me smile and lift my spirits whilst I am out and about on my deliveries... Thank You and stay safe.
Now for the Log.

The advice regarding our hobby is to spot from home only- some of you already just do this anyway- but do not venture anywhere near any airports or airfields in the current climate- will take a bit of explaining to the Police when they stop you- and most of all stay safe, don't socialise, self isolate, and wash your hands. This virus is going to get worse before it gets better, and we need to help getting the latter by adhering to what the gov are asking us to do. Unfortunately there are lots of people who are not. Lets make sure be don't become one of the stats.

Great advice from aircraftmad and I'm fortunate to live where I do as I can see a lot of stuff heading in all directions, yesterday morning was too hazy for me to see the Aeroflot B777 into LHR but I still managed to log the following:
D-AALN B777F Aerologic (FRA-YYZ) A7-ANK A350-1000 Qatar (DOH-JFK) N124FE B767F FedEx (EWR-CDG) G-LDGB Diamond Aircraft DA40 Diamond Star EJ-AWES Challenger 605 (inbound Farnborough,first one I've seen of the new Irish register) G-LMRA ATR 42 Loganair (IOM-LGW)
Heed the advice and stay safe everyone.

That pesky mist again this morning. Yet another different Aeroflot 777 that escaped me. Slight chance later of seeing it depart?

A good day at home yesterday doing jobs around the house and garden. I hadn't made a B767 this year so far when three came by at once, although one was a scrape.
A7-ANK - A350 Qatari westbound N234AX - B767 Omni Air westbound N124FE - B767 FedEx eastbound N396CM - B767 Amerijet eastbound scrape of N366AA
An example of the best and worst of people during this current situation - went to Sainsbury's in Devizes this morning, an orderly queue snaking around the small carpark observing social distancing in a cold, bracing wind. I was third in the queue when a tiny, very elderly lady walked towards the doors with her push along shopping trolley and the security guy very politely said, "I'm so sorry my dear but there is a queue". Bless her, she just shrugged and said, "OK" and started walking towards the end of the queue. Both the women in front of me and myself, said, " come on, you go in next, it won't make any difference to us", she thanked us profusely and walked back towards the door when some arsehole halfway back in the queue shouts out, " Oi, there a f***ing queue here!"
I sincerely hope he dies a very painful death, whether from this virus or from something in the very near future.

Well done Graham, makes me proud to have you as a friend and I wouldn't mind betting that this arsehole buys more than he needs.

What a complete moron Dave, he was most likely queuing for his daily fix of Special Brew and 40 fags, he'll be old one day ( possibly but I hope not..)and would presumably appreciate a similar act of kindness.

For a long while it looked like a blank day, but eventually happy with making 2 departures from Heathrow, Asiana A350 HL8381 and the Brunei B787 V8-OAS. Still trying to work out how Heathrow can be on 09s yet there is a howling gale west to east down our garden!

Looks like we have to wait until Wednesday before a return to winds from the West, when hopefully LHR will return to 27s.

Can't believe I managed to add five for the records yesterday, especially under the present climate, although I did have to stand in the bath and look out, for two of them...
