Almost a year to the day since my last visit here to this busy field. Asked for permission in the Flying Club reception which was duly granted. The perimeter "road" ( track) is still badly potholed in places and you have to be very careful especially when it's wet, as it was today, as you have no idea how deep those potholes really are when they're full of water.
Parked by the Microlights hangar first, asked to go in and was welcomed aboard. Then drove to the other various hangars, of which there are loads, although being a weekday, most were closed and locked. Those that were open were welcoming. There's a brand new maintenance hangar adjacent to the old one, (which is still in use), I was granted permission to go inside on the understanding that no photos were taken.
A date for the diary - the very pleasant chap in the micro hangar said that on August 8th they are going for a world record ( which Guinnesss will be attending. The record they seek is for the most light aircraft to take off from a single runway in one hour. The current record apparently is 57 and they reckon they can treble that. It's open to the public so could be well worth the drive.
I potted 20 which I was well pleased with, although I actually logged 58, and there must have been at least another 50-60 hangared to which I had no access. Just the one query from the last photo - the PA28 at the rear is G-BAFU, can anyone ID the closer one please?
Full log with pots in bold, list now edited to include G-RYNS, thanks to Jargon
