I met up with Rob Belcher at about 10.30 after he had scattered his dad's ashes on the airfield, they were scattered about halfway down runway 03/21 in the presence of Popham's manager to whom I think special thanks should be given for allowing Rob to do this, his dad Harry was a member of the marshaling team for many a year and was a familiar figure to many of us who attend the fly ins at this lovely airfield.
Lots of the locals out flying but not too many visitors, but these included:
G-GCYC Cessna 182 G-XARA Sportcruiser G-CGGM EV97 Eurostar G-STUE Europa
With WAM were three of interest:
G-TERY PA-28 Cherokee 181 G-BSZV Cessna 150F G-AKIE Auster (painted as NJ728)
Quite a bit of stuff flew through the overhead and one or two trails were logged as well:
G-BTRT PA-28R Cherokee Arrow G-CIGW Bristel NG5 Speedwing D-AGGL Global Express 6000 G-TIPY Sportcruiser G-CIRP Eurofox ZJ691 Sentinel Royal Air Force G-JEEP EV 97 Eurostar MM62229 B767 Italian Air Force G-ESME Cessna 182R G-CJRB Schleicher ASW.19B G-CIFA Eurofox G-CKYL C42 FB80 G-CIJF Schemmp-Hirth Duo Discus T
