My first trip out spotting since well before the lockdown saw me meet up with Jeff, Bill, Viv, Dave, John and Keith in the viewing area by the cafe. We found a couple of tables in the shade and ordered breakfasts, which were half price due to the government's restaurant scheme. Hence my full English plus cup of tea and toast cost me the princely sum of £3.37, so cheers to you Boris!
Blackbushe did seem quiet, a few OTTs which made up for the lack of anything very exciting down on the ground. I waited for the eastbound C17 which went past us at about 11.45am then said my cheerios and headed for Popham

I suppose I've visited Popham more than any other field with the exception of Kemble and as such, didn't think I'd see much of interest. But how wrong I was. Six pots including the lovely old Autocrat which wasn't out when I drove into the place, but was there right by the fence to the side of hangar No1 as I left and two gyros which were inside their plastic hangar but very conveniently had their tails in clear view.

Next stop was Thruxton, a 15 minute blast from Popham, again, a very regularly visited field for me so I wasn't surprised to see nothing of any interest.
It was great to see the lads, and just as good to make 11 frames
