Penzance heliport has been sold for redevelopment I think filair, in fact, it might have already been built on. Lyneham would be good, it has a decent long runway and is just ten miles from here. I think the Army are the current custodians although at one time Eddie Shah had big plans to turn it into a new complex of shops, theatres and leisure facilities. Filton would be a great re-addition as an international airport, Lulsgate is a pain to get to from anywhere.

Yes Penzance is,I think,a supermarket now,I included it to show how many airfields have closed of late. I have to disagree about Lulsgate being a pain to get to,I can be there in about 10 minutes,Filton was at least 30 minutes, usually much more!!

We used Lulsgate a few times for flights to Greece and a couple of other European destinations, getting there from Devizes is a pain, all back roads and Chew Magna can sometimes takes ten mins to negotiate due to its narrow streets and parked vehicles. We can get to Gatwick or Birmingham in much the same time as we used to take to reach Bristol but I appreciate it depends where you're starting from.
