Using the new "On this day" section

Hi all, many thanks to those who have already contributed to this new section. Just one small point, can we please keep the logs to the actual day? It doesn't matter what year it was, whether 1950 or 2019 or anything in between as long as the log is for today's date, so 20th September for any contributions today please.

Please start a new thread for every log otherwise the later ones for any specific date may get overlooked

Folks, thanks so much for all the logs posted so far, there really are some superb logs and of course, great memories too. Apart from attending shows here, there and everywhere and the occasional US trip, I did to all intents stop daily spotting for decades from around 1979 until 2013. My dear old Mum found a load of my old logs from 1968-1979 about three years ago plus a stack of old marked up CAMs but none were dated so I had to enter them into PlaneBase with fictional dates, even if the year was roughly correct. So apart from shows, or the US and Continental trips, I don't have anything with confirmed dates for almost 35 years.
