This was held on the late May bank holiday which was May 29th 1989 at Stoke Park, Guildford. The day after 'Balloons Over Basingstoke'. It was an afternoon lift. Seen over Aldershot before I left for Guildford: PA28 G-NINA, AVLU, DNCS; PA23 G-ARJU; DHC1 G-AMUF; PA22 G-ARHR; B47G G-BBRI; RF4 G-AYHY; Ce172 G-BPRM; BN2 G-ORED; Jodel G-BMKF; Ce182 G-BHVP. Stoke Park Balloons: G-OSST, MITZ, BMST, BPSH, BPJE, FZZY, CCDI, BOJU, PURE,TWEY, LOWA, HOFM, BOSF, BPBY, PRIT. Guildford overflights: DR400 G-RBIN; PA23 G-AXKD; Ce152 G-BJWH; Ce310 G-IMLI.
Another show was held at the same venue later on in that year over the weekend of 2nd & 3rd September;. The balloons flew on the 3rd which is the date for the log below. Seen Over Aldershot & Badshot Lea before I left: PA23 G-JASP; AA5 G-MELD; PA28 G-AZWD, BHBS, BBKX, AVLU, AVNW, AVRY; DR400 G-BFJZ; Ce150/2 G-MPBH, BAVC; Ce172 G-BHEP; RC114 G-BERI; Fred G-BKZT; BN2 AYRU; Argus G-RGUS; Stoke Park Balloons: G-OSST, BPBY, BORA, BNFP, BLPP, BNHS, BNAW, RBOW, BKRI, COLR. Helecopters: B206 G-BOSW (Joyrides on both days) Gazelle XX396 and overflight PA28 G-AVLU On the way home after the show another balloon was seen landing at Pitch Place near Thursley which was G-TGAS. One of the ground crew told me that it launched from a site in Elstead and had 10 people on board.
