I was going through some old slides recently and came across these which I'd completely forgotten about.
G-BSST's visit to Heathrow that weekend was referred to in this thread in April. The online records refer to it being there on 1 July but it must have stayed overnight as I'm certain I saw it on 2 July. I don't know which airline the Caravelle belongs to as I don't recognise the markings. There must be 17/18 Tridents in the second picture, though not all BEA aircraft, with just one lone 1-11!
The 747.100 picture taken from the airport perimeter is included just because it looks so good in that livery.

Hi
The Caravelle was operated by Air Charter International which was a French company. They were occasional visitors to Heathrow and sometimes operated Air France flights.

Thanks, cornwall01 , for the Caravelle identification. I had a feeling someone here might know!

In the Trident picture, there are two with yellow paintwork, one on the left with what looks like a yellow tail/white fuselage and one on the right with a yellow top and white underside, both with a round tail logo though the resolution isn't good enough to be sure. Again I can't identify the airline(s).

Northeast Airlines yellowbirds as they were known. Formerly BKS and merged into BA. Primarily served Newcastle-Heathrow

I remember seeing an Air Charter Caravelle at LHR on a rare childhood visit. As well as Tridents you could also see Northeast Viscounts. Of course you also had Cambrian Viscounts which were red, I don't think I saw any of those, but I have seen the pictures! When I was more mobile and able to get to LHR by myself, I enjoyed seeing the Air Inter Mercures that operated on some Air France flights, this would be late 1970s.

Thank you, davebasing , for the Northeast Airlines Tridents identification, an airline I'd completely forgotten about.
