Apparently the above is due for preservation at Kemble on Thursday or Friday, depending upon the weather. It seems to be all over social media...FB, Instagram, Twitter etc etc. Seems that if it does turn up, it will not be scrapped and might become a museum exhibit which can be visited! Well...only time will tell, I guess. I have no authentic information on this potential ‘happening’ so repeated for what it is worth.

It would certainly be a great exhibit Graham, it's not like there isn't any room after all, maybe on the huge grass area on the left after the Britannia. There must be access from airside to that part of the field along the old taxiway.

Kemble Airport statement
I note there are lots or rumours floating around spotter sites regarding 747 arrivals at Cotswold Airport tomorrow.#, most of which are not entirely correct.
We are expecting one 747 arrival tomorrow, weather permitting and thus flight times have yet to be confirmed. I acknowledge this particular aircraft due to its colour scheme may well attract more attention than others. Its future, like all other aircraft currently in storage at the Airport, is unknown, despite some fanciful rumours, and this decision resides with the airline/owners.
The A429 road alongside the Airport is a very dangerous and fast road, particularly near the blind bend. Please for your own safety avoid this area.
We have informed the local Police, but please take care if you plan to watch. I would strongly encourage all to come into the Airport and to the viewing area near AV8 to view from a safe place where you can see the whole runway. its also a pedestrian area, so child safe and we can park well over 400 cars. The (only) entrance to the Airport is sign posted of the A433 (Tetbury to Cirencester) road. Postcode for satnav in GL7 6BA. There is no charge to come in or park and a burger van is on site, in the viewing area.

Not much at all, Jeff, other than an increasingly forlorn looking photo backdrop. After short use as a ‘party plane’ for weddings / press launches etc., I believe that ‘elf & safety intervened to put paid to that venture. It’s been rudderless for years and now serves little purpose.

Thanks Steve. It's a big plane to look after and keep looking as she should, after visiting the Norwich museum a couple of weeks back and seeing the condition of the Herald and F27 which in comparison are tiny aircraft I don't hold out much hope it will look good for long

BA have announced that CIVB and CIVY, the last two at LHR, will leave together tomorrow morning using parallel runways with VY doing a flypast after take off. Both are supposed to be for Kemble. Departure is supposed to be 0800 depending on weather etc.

Gents...VB is for Kemble; VY is for St Athan.
Update on local info..wx is crap; layby on A429 Is triple parked; the grass verges are filling up and farmers gates are being blocked/hemmed in.
In all...it is not very pleasant. I dread to think what AV8-side is like!!
Be careful if coming over.

So no parallel runway departure as they took off one after the other on 27R. VY is currently carrying out a missed approach over south London and a flypast at 750ft over 27L and VB is almost at Kemble.

VB arrived.....after half a dozen holds due v poor wx. Actually landed in bright sunlight...which lasted for about 10 minutes.
1000s of people scattered around the airfield and the roads. Quite hideous.
