Thanks Chris, tnat's a pretty scary ride for sure, that Actros must have an exhaust brake or retarder to take the heat off the brakes on a fully freighted decent like that. He'd be buggered on some of those hairpins without that steering dolly at the back too. Great video.

The F12 I had had an exhaust brake on it, a small button to the left of the clutch, it was quite effective on long descents, say in central wales or Shropshire where the roads are pretty hilly. A mate of mine drove a Guy and I think they had proper Jake Brakes on them.

They look like enormous Rhubarb+Custards! But they do look like the *pigs* we used to push through the Large diameter mains to clean out the crap,but they were made of sponge,those things look a bit too heavy......................chris
